AudioSpeedx allows you to alter the playback speed of audio files, and independently or in addition alter the pitch rate. Ideal for learning tricky passages of music or vocals, as it will adjust the playback speed without altering the pitch, if you don't adjust the pitch slider. Key features include: - Speed slider for adjusting the playback speed from a range of 2.0 down to 0.35. - Pitch slider for adjusting the playback pitch rate from -2400 to +2400 - Record button for saving the adjusted audio to file. - Clear and simple interface for ease of use.

    Does not Work
I ordered this app on 12/24/18, and it crashed immediately. I tried to open it several times after the download and it would not open. What is wrong with this app. I want my money back. This is ridiculous. Show more

Worked for a month, then quit and refuses to run.
I purchased this in mid-November 2017 and I found it VERY useful in converting some “fiddle and flute” instrumental music to slower tempos, or making pitch adjustments, or a combination of those two actions. However, just over one month after making the purchase, the application refuses to start up. The “crash” kept occuring despite efforts like updating my OS, deleting and then re-installing the AudioSpeedX application off the App Store, etc. Was there some sort of “annual licensing” requirement which I overlooked? If so, the program at least should start up and “splash” a box to notify me. (If the program would start up and run after being 1 month old, I’d give it “Five Stars.”) This application works “tolerably” for slowing down music that includes a vocal track. However, vocal tracks sound REALLY odd if you try to shift the pitch. (That’s the nature of overtones in the human voice, I suspect.) This application does not properly create output files. If my original track lasted 2 minutes and I played it back at 50% speed for export into an output file, then I got an MP3 file that lasted 2 minutes and gave me the first half of the original track. But here’s a work-around: I let “AudioSpeedX" “play” at the slow speed and I hijacked the audio output with “Audio Hijack” (an excellent program that I highly recommend). I didn’t have a chance to check out “speed slow-down” performance with tunes that use guitar or mandolin or similar “plucked string” abrupt tones. Other programs that I’ve tried don’t sound so hot on this sort of material, so if you try slowing down acoustic guitar, drums, etc (within the first month after purchase??), don’t be surprised if the sound is less-than-ideal with this program. If the result sounds good to you, please be sure to post your comments for others. Show more

    Pitch Slider adjuster
I am using optical mouse and attempting to change the pitch rate with your AudioSpeedx application. Due to old cassette tape theplay back is sharp in tone, (due to possible strerching.) The default setting you have is 1.0 and optical mouse is of no avail for small increment changes. I have visited your support page and I got no response there also. Show more
