Noticing that the audio balance for your headphones is going slightly to the left or right? Balance Lock was designed to solve this by keeping the audio centred either in the middle or to a custom lock point. No more annoying left/right audio drift! It runs unintrusively in the background, monitoring the audio levels to ensure that when plugging and unplugging headphones, the audio stays centered. It even has special support for USB audio devices so ensure all types of headphones are supported. If you like it, please consider leaving a nice review, it's very much appreciated!

    Set it and forget it. Love it.

    Simple and effective
    Solves the problems I've been having with my airpods. Seems fairly inobtrusive as well (except for this prompt to write a review, haha, but I bet that goes away now). Ability to turn on/off notifications for when balance is restored is a great feature, it'll remind me of this app for a time when I hopefully have to uninstall it, OR, if I ever get tired of the notifications, I can turn them off and just let it keep doing its thing.     Sad That This is Needed
    It's really sad that this app exists soley to resolve a long-standing bug in macOS where audio balance will drift left/right on a MacBook.

    Great app to fix a bad Apple
    It's sort of hillarious I have to install an app to fix an obvious bug in Mac OS that is easily reproducible. The bug is that the balance on my iMac 27" 2015 I7 (using Monterey 12.6.2) changes to what appears like random settings when adjusting volume while the speaker is powering up. Perhaps the KEF LSX II is part of the problem. My iMac is connected to the speakers via USB. The problem happens VERY EASILY with the balance messed up when I adjust volume. This problem has never occured with any other audio ouput incl. DACs, but now it's a more often than not. The need for such "bug fix app" is an embarassment for Apple and I don't really enjoy thinking about my CPU wasting energy monitoring an Apple bug misbehaving. Show more

    It's so ridiculous that apple has had this problem for a decade and haven't bothered to fix it. It's been so frustrating feeling like I was going deaf in one ear. Show more

    Please, in app to remove menubar icon
    Apple should just buy this, first off... I mean.... come on. Thanks for making this free. BUT, I hate having stuff in my menubar. Especially, since this really is just a "set it and forget it" app. I've seen other apps that have an app icon in Applications, you run them, but their dock icon is not visible AND they don't have a menubar icon. PLEASE, do the same. If that's difficult, would happily pay even a $5 IAP for it. Thanks for making this... why Apple, why? Show more
