A strange noise-making device. A collection of blocks of signal processing that document the last few months of my meanderings, wired together to make excessive oddness. Kinda like an iOS monotron, but with the capacity for great evil. Made from circuit models. Structurally, there's an antialiased oscillator, feeding a partially temperature-stabilised transistor-ladder VCF (which can be heated), feeding an interesting old pitch-shifter in full-feedback-fun mode. Plus an LFO for some movement, and AudioBus compatibility. Sounds vary from early Dr Who to world-ending cataclysms. There are no presets because what you hear is determined by more than just the positions of the knobs. It's what you turned and when. There's no MIDI input because it would be entirely out of character; once you hear it, you should understand pretty quick.

    Not accessible with voiceover
Are use this app a lot, but as a blind person, I cannot reset everything and less I close the app.

    Needs a reset button!
While this app is capable of creating some really interesting and nutty sounds, and is really fun to experiment with, it really does need a panic button or a reset button. The synth can very easily become “locked on a sound” where the sound is just playing with you not touching the keyboard. I don’t think this is a bug, but having a panic button to at least, reset the synth back to start in these situations would be nice. I’m not even asking for the ability to save presents as this is just a nice, simple, free, synth that can do cool stuff. But please! Give us a reset button! Show more

    Crazy experimental sounds
This app is amazing. Can get insane gritty crushed warping sounds out of it especially if you hold a key down and then fiddle with the delay and feedback knobs. Great noise app Show more

    Needs update
I give it 4 stars for the sounds but it really needs AudioBus or IAA to be useful.

    Fantastic!
Should be in the toolbox of anyone who likes to explore sound. This is the best review I can think of... The first time I ran the app I felt like an idiot for not having a recorder running because I heard about 10 useful and totally unique bits of audio flash by as I played with it! Lesson learned, I will capture output from future sessions. It is a tiny gold mine of interesting and bizarre sound. Show more

Needs a patch memory but shreds as a sound mangler
It's insidiously strange and fat but needs a hold function for use with audio buss peace Christo

Cool, unique, but in need of an update
I see the positive reviews for this quirky little synth/noisemaker, and I totally get it...but I can't call this a 5-star app. AudioBus functionality, for me, supplants the need for a record function or looper, but it's lacking other basic interface elements that make it frustrating to use. The inability to save presets is almost criminal. If you found a setting really cool and unique, you'd be hard-pressed to recreate it (take a screenshot, maybe?). You also need to basically restart the app to get the settings back to default. No menus or options beyond what you see on that single screenshot. Finally, I don't even know of pitched note inputs make sense for some of the sounds that come out of BeepBoop, but Virtual MIDI control would be nice to sidestep the keyboard, which is basically a picture of a keyboard over which you slide your finger to pitch noises up and down. But negatives aside, the app is small, cheap, and very fun for experimentation. I don't have any problem using the linear knobs and appreciate that they are large enough to use. BeepBoop can make sounds that squeal, hum with warmth, oscillate, and crackle. It's a cool little novelty synth, but one that probably could have some musical uses as well (especially if some of my suggestions are implemented). Show more

    Very cool
As other reviewers have mentioned, you can make some crazy and cool sounds with this app. On my iPad mini, the keyboard is a bit glitchy. But the knobs are perfect. It needs record functionality and the ability to use more than one key on the keyboard to be useful. Also, show us what key we are pressing! But I'm keeping it and hoping for an update... Good first effort for sure. Show more

    Decievingly Powerful & Beautifully Chaotic.
When I first used this app and went nuts turning all the knobs every which way like I do in any similar app to experiment. Well, honestly I thought this app was buggy and broken because it got stuck on a looped sound that I could not rectify. But after my third and fourth time using this awesome app, I quickly discovered that the problems I had were all my fault. Because when I just edited one knob at a time I still was able to achieve what I thought had been a bug in the app. But once I moved that knob back to where it was previously, the app worked fine again. The reason I am mentioning this is just because I wanted to help if someone had the same issue. And also to showcase how truly powerful I believe this app is. I really do find it chaoticbut in the best way possible. I was able to create some truly insane sounds in the app. Stuff I haven't been able to achieve in the myriad other noise makers and synth apps I have. It sounds like a robot on acid massacring a bunch of other robots and robot cats. Don't worry, I love cats, just want to express how totally nuts and abrasive I think the sounds are in this app. I found it is not without it's faults, though. But to me that is expected of any app. I do wish the app had a Panic button and or reset button. Also, I find the knobs to be a tad slippery, meaning they can jump real far with just a little touch. I wouldn't mind if they were tightened up just a little, but you may find them to be more than adequate. I took a chance on this app having zero reviews at the time of purchase. But the description sounded like something I generally like and I am more than pleased with the psychotic results the app gives me. Do keep in mind too that this is not a hugely feature-filled app. Basically what you see in the screenshot is what you get. But hey, it's only two bucks and I cannot personally think of anything more I would want in this app. Plus it has AudioBus, which makes it really versatile in my opinion. Update: One last thing I wanted to add is that I hope one day we can save presets in this app. I know it doesn't come with any. But if I make a cool sound I would love to be able to save those knob settings and sound for later recall or use please. Maybe it can be added in an update please. Thanks. Update Again: I just had to post again how insane this app is. I just made a sound that basically sounds like frying bacon in a pan. I adjust a few knobs after and it sounds like something out of post-apocalyptic/sci-fi/horror movie. I know I probably sound loony. But the deeper I dive into this app the more it astounds me with the incredibly unique and just nutty fu fu sounds it makes. But man, I just have to reiterate - please give use a way to save our presets in the app. I don't want to lose some of these sounds and I am not sure I could reproduce some of them. Show more
