This iPad app enables owners of the new generation Buchla Easel musical instrument to remote control the device via WiFi or MIDI. Complex patches (performances) can be created and stored within the app. A selected subset of up to 24 performances can be stored in the iProgramCard for direct accessibility.

    Key output fixed with card firmware update. Rebooting helps.
    I’m pleased to say that without updating the app it seems the virtual keyboard control of the 218e — and now the 208C internal MIDI bus — now works again if you firmware update the iProgramCard to version 63. Its available on the Buchla download web page. BTW the 218e needs to ‘remote enabled’ and 208C In Both in remote mode for that to work. I also discovered I could get WiFi working better after I was forced to use it because I lost my iPad ‘camera kit’ I was using for a cabled connection. WiFi problems were solved when I rebooted the app AFTER connecting to card via WiFi. Of course WiFi hardware antenna on the iProgramCard is still only 2.4GHz though, so won’t work for a 5Ghz network. But even then I could only move a fader at a time and it didn’t download programs without error UNTIL I rebooted the app. And this app still works on iOS 13! It’s not a perfect app, and an inverter and 208C looking edition would be nice. But it works well for me now. And it works on the 208C without need for the 218e! If you have or are considering an iProgramCard, this is still a useful graphical interface for creating new programs. Show more

    Does not send MIDI Note On
    I wish I could say this app worked properly given the $1000 price of entry for an iProgram card. While the patching is mostly effective, the Midi Note functionality is strangely absent. Basically, the keyboard is useless in the latest version of the app. Show more

    Can't open
    LOVE Buchla. LOVE my Easel. App doesn't open though. I'm using iOS 9.3. I hope you try this before you buy the iProgram card. Buchla has great customer service tho so I'm sure this will be made right. Show more

    Still doesn't work on iPad 3
    After several years, it still doesn't launch on an iPad 3. App requires ios6 so it doesn't work on an iPad 1. So, out of two iPads I have, zero success with this app so my $900 iprogram card is a paperweight. suckered out of a grand by BEMI. ? Show more

    Crashes After Start Screen
    Just a heads up that this app seems to crash immediately after the startup screen. Using an iPad 3. Waiting to purchase the iprogram card until this works.
