DroneLab creates slowly shifting musical soundscapes. Control three continuous audio sources running in parallel, each with its own rate of shifting intensity. Expand the soundscape with unusual sound effects crafted specifically for DroneLab. Get going quickly by selecting one of the included presets. Go further by selecting and customizing the sound sources, and save your own presets to the list. Create soundscapes for your music and video projects: - Export a stereo audio file with your current settings, at sample rates up to 96KHz. On newer devices, exports occur faster than real time. - Or, you can record in real time, capturing all the changes you make to the sounds as you go. DroneLab is great for improvisation and experimentation: - Explore the melodic side of your instrument in a fun, relaxing setting. - Warm up before practicing more difficult material. - Explore sounds and articulations that aren't part of your usual repertoire. Please visit us at dronelab.app for videos, more information and support.
What’s New
- Live recording: Make changes to the sounds, or switch presets, while capturing everything in real time to an audio file. The record button (REC) is on the middle bar on iPad and Mac, and near the top left of the Settings tab on iPhone. - Some names have been changed to make things clearer and more consistent: The "Details" tab on iPhone is changed to "Settings." On iPad, "Settings" is changed to "App Settings," and "Details" is changed to "Sound Settings" - Updates for iOS16/iPadOS 16. - Improvements and bug fixes when running on Mac M1/M2. - Various other graphical, user interface, and performance improvements. NOTE: Starting with this version, iOS 14, iPadOS 14, and macOS 11 (Big Sur) are not supported. You can continue to use version 1.3 on those OS versions.

    Needs a bit more utility
It drones yes, but consider adding these two features and I think it would be five stars. 1. More varied sound sources for all three drones. 2. MIDI implementation to drive other auv3 apps. This way the user could use their own choice of synth to drone with. Show more

    Fantastic App!
I teach all instrument families, brass, strings, woodwinds, percussion. I teach beginners as well as improvisation. This is a fantastic app for musicians of every level to develop listening, intonation, improvisation skills, all of it. Thank you so much! Show more

Has potential but needs more variety
I was disappointed in the lack of variety. You can make your own presets but the options for sounds and range of notes is very limited. I need a good pad sound creation tool. This app has potential but needs more variety. As a paid app, it falls short of the mark. Show more

    Very cool app
Hey! Thank you so much for adding iPad compatibility and keeping the app up to date! This is definitely a very good app to have if you’re into sound experimentation and like drone sounds. It has a ton of adjustable parameters and is definitely not a toy (although it’s easy to get lost playing with it) Show more

    Perfect
Also doubles perfectly as the best sleep/concentration/space out/zen app on the store. I’ve been putting this on much more than Spotify here lately. If you read this dev, if you plan to keep developing it, more sound options are always nice. Namely, for each section: 1) Pure sawtooth wave. No one can deny the beating of two detuned unison saws. 2) A third oscillator to the chord section. 3) A gentle, moderately rolling sample and hold filtered noise Thanks for this! Show more

    Making me a better musician
I’m a guitar player and I’ve never really practiced with drones before. I saw a YouTube video on how beneficial this form of practice is so I decided to give it a try. The very next day one of the electronic music groups that I follow on Facebook posted this app. So I bought it and downloaded and tried it out. It’s perfect. I wish it had more sounds but that’s really a nitpick. What it has is fine and it does the job well. I see that it was released four years ago. I wish I found out about it for years ago. Show more
