**You must own a Synology NAS to run this app, and be running the Audio Station 6.5.0 package to get the complete set of features** DS audio allows you to stream music stored on your DiskStation with an iPhone/iPad wherever an Internet connection is available. Better yet, with the offline mode you can listen to songs stored in the device’s local memory for when no network connection is available. You can browse music by albums, artists, folders or genres, create your own playlists or share them with your friends, and even rate your music! And if you have dedicated stereo speakers at home, DS audio can also become a remote control to stream music to them. Important Note: 1. Updated to be compatible with Advanced Media Extensions 3.0. 2. Support for AAC encoded audio is widespread across end devices like smartphones, tablets, computers, and the majority of other media playback devices. The need for AAC transcoding to achieve better compatibility has significantly diminished and will be removed starting with DSM 7.1.1. Starting from DSM 7.1.1, AAC decoding is performed by the end device. - Streaming AAC encoded files over AirPlay is no longer supported. - Playback of AAC files via Chromecast is no longer supported. - Playback of M4A (recordings made on iPhones) is no longer supported. - Removed options for transcoding AAC files. Fixed Issues: 1. Fixed an issue where the application might quit unexpectedly when switching to a Chromecast device during playback. 2. Fixed an issue where the player might not show the information of the artist. 3. Minor bug fixes.

    Useless
    Quits again & again. Will not run

    Essentially useless audio player.
    This app remembers your spot in the track you were last listening to, but it remembers it individually for each distinct listening mode and device you use so it’s essentially useless. Listening to music while in the car and n your way to the gym, then expect it to pick up where you left off when you go inside and put in your headphones? Nope. It remembers the last thing you listened to when you last used those headphones. And that’s if it even actually does remember your place. Absolutely mind boggling choice (or perhaps oversight) by the developers. I’ll give it a pity star for actually syncing to my NAS properly. Show more

    Cannot stream songs any more under iOS16
    Suddenly stopped working after iOS upgrade. Android app works fine, NAS working fine, app download and listing songs working fine. Just cannot streaming songs. Auto cache also not working. Have to download the song manually before you play it. Please fix the bug! Show more

    Disappointing
    Missing features I consider important, like gapless playback, scrubbing for Apple Lossless files (maybe works only for mp3) and alphabetical tabs for navigating playlists. It would also be nice to be able to get detailed file info (format, bit depth, sample rate, etc). I requested these long ago, and the requests have been ignored; I guess not enough users want them, or Synology just doesn’t care. Show more

    Basic stuff is busted or missing
    First off, nothing I do or change seems to let me log in with https turned on. Second, there are some very basic things missing which are available in the Audio Station desktop UI which make this imminently less usable: no recently added section, you can’t change the sort order in any view, and there’s no search. I wish this app was more useful because I’d love to see it become my new standard, but when the app is this old and this immature, I can tell I’m better off searching for an alternative. Show more

    Kinda usefull
    The app allows streaming from NAS directly to a BOSE sound bar, something apparently not doable with the BOSE app. But the app is NOT at all intuitive: such as simply playing a Playlist, or viewing the Now Playing queue. Good luck finding that. Show more

    Interface
    Please update the user interface to match other music apps like Spotify, YouTube music and Apple music, your app is outdated for ease of use, layout and interface should be updated as it looks like music apps from 10 years ago Show more
