    2022 Review
Took a chance and burned 4 bucks on this to convert all my REX2 files during the great "Intel to Apple Silicon" migration as Reason Studios (Formerly Propellerhead Software) is apparently discontinuing the Rex Library which allows you to use REX files natively in your DAW. 2 stars because it technically works in that it will spit out your REX files as either .wav or .aiff format. However: Neither the converted Apple Loop (.aiff) nor Wave files contain any BPM info, even though you select the option to use the original BPM of the REX file. It’s not practical to manually add BPM per file when you have hundreds of files or in my case over 15,000. The converted Apple Loop (.aiff) files are about -13dB for some reason? I can’t figure out what setting is causing this but they just render at like half volume. Overall, converting from REX to any other non-sliced format loses all flexibility that the REX format gives. The only way the audio files sound similar is if you use them in the original tempo. Speeding up or slowing down the tempo, the REX file behaves in a way that the Apple Loops or Wave file formats cannot, and thus sound completely different. Show more

Now it’s a really useful tool!
With the added functionality of allowing you to chose the tempo of the converted files, this app is now a very useful tool! Highly recommended! Thanks for addressing this in a timely fashion. Show more
