A FLOW STATE is defined as the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. In essence, flow is characterized by the complete absorption in what one does, and a resulting transformation in one’s sense of time. Otherwise known as, being in the zone. Being in a flow state will make it easier to study, work, brainstorm, relax, and even fall asleep. Being better at these things will help you become more productive, happier, and healthier. WELCOME TO FLOW STATE SYSTEMS We use music with subliminal tones baked into our songs; scientifically proven to alter your state of mind; in an effort to match it to the task you’re trying to accomplish. This will allow you to be in control of when you enter flow states, relaxation periods, or even prepare for sleep. Step 1: Login to free mobile app (NO DOWNLOAD FEE, NO ADS, NO SUBSCRIPTIONS, NO CATCH). Pick the task you’re about to start doing (such as sleeping, working, or brainstorming), then the tone (this is just a preference), and then the vibe (this is our proprietary ambient music; pick the one you want to listen to while you accomplish your task). Step 2: Based on which task you’re trying to accomplish, our tech will auto-DJ frequencies that will adjust your brainwaves to the optimal mental state required to accomplish that task. We’ll be broadcasting different frequencies into each ear - so please wear headphones. Step 3: If you’re trying to be productive, start working. If you’re trying to relax or fall asleep, find a quiet place and relax. Allow 10-20 minutes for our sounds to sync your brainwaves to the optimal frequency, helping you arrive at the correct mental state of mind for your chosen task. SO WHAT IS THE APP DOING? *We play songs with purposely different frequencies, into each ear. . . We’re using binaural beats, sometimes referred to as pyscho-acoustic medicine. They’re two, ALMOST identical tones played at the same time; one being sent to your right ear, and the other sent to your left. Which is why this requires headphones. The two tones are set at different frequencies. You can’t decipher the different frequencies, but the brain can. This tricks your brain into concentrating its efforts into syncing the two noises so it can interpret it as one. Because it’s concentrating on syncing the two tones, it’s far more immune from distraction. *This tricks the brain into concentrating on your chosen task. . . Many people find that they’re very creative while performing mundane tasks such as going on walks, mowing the lawn, taking a shower, etc. This is because these actions are required JUST ENOUGH brainpower to focus on the tasks (like walking), but leaves so much remaining power that it can be aimed, in a quasi-meditative way, at whatever thoughts you want to focus on. This is what binaural beats are doing. Think of them as distracting the distraction. It’s giving your brain an absurdly easy task to accomplish i.e. interpret the two sounds as one, making it too busy to care about life distractions, but still open enough to hyper-focus on a single task (such as cleaning or returning emails). *Science has proven that certain frequency ranges optimize your state of mind for the specific task. . . The difference in frequencies (frequency A minus frequency B) is called a delta. Science has proven that different delta ranges alter your state of mind in various ways. Some induce creativity, some relax you, some allow you to perform deep work while completely losing track of time. We’ve partnered with award winning composers and audio engineers to create binaural beats that are embedded into ambient soundtracks, with deltas at every range of the productivity and relaxation spectrum. So all you have to do is tell us what task you’re working on, and pick your vibe. Then our technology matches the correct frequency to your task.

Exactly what I was looking for
This is basically perfect. Wanted a binaural beats app with music. Other free apps only had the beats (no music), and the beats+music apps were all freemium with limited free options and too many ads and pop ups. The only suggestion I have for improvement is that the phone doesn’t seem to recognize the app as an audio app. So I can’t pause and play from phone’s Lock Screen or in the widget, I have to go into the app. For example, when a podcast is playing and the screen is off, I can pause and play the podcast from the Lock Screen. For some reason that’s not the case with Flow State. But that’s my only suggestion and seems like a straightforward technical fix. Show more

    Text irritant
Concept is neat. Several texts a day spamming is not. Don’t install if you are trying to focus on actual work! Uninstalled and phone blocked the app to stop texts from breaking my work concentration. I’d be ok with email adverts but abusing my time by texting my cell is not ok. Show more

I wish I knew about this sooner!
This app has completely changed the way I sleep. I have high anxiety and my stress seems to always manifest in the form of bad dreams. I would toss and turn nonstop, clench my jaw, and wake up several times during the night. Not anymore! I started using this app and listening to the sleep setting all night (I know that’s not what you are meant to do, but I fall asleep so fast I forget to take my headphones off.) I never thought I would be able to shut off my stress dreams, but this app made that possible and I am so thankful! Show more

It works! I don’t know why I’m surprised
I have a job that requires focus for analytics of financial statements, cash flow modeling, and writing. After 20 years of this, it can be hard to find motivation and focus but I tried this app and wow, for 3 hours straight I got more work done than usual and the time went by quickly. I’m a believer in sound therapy and have used it often in the past for meditation; this levels sound therapy up by a lot. Thankful I have watched The Challenge and have Wes as a fave, who I found this app through his Instagram posts. Try it...it won’t hurt you to just try it out for yourself. Show more

    Music is too techy
I was hoping for some ethereal style music that helps you focus, but this is all just techy sounds and is often more distracting or just annoying. I’ll stick to classical and video game tracks, I guess... Show more

    Induced a state alright
I wasn’t sure whether to make this a 5 star raving review or a 1 star warning, and I’ll tell you why. My first time using this app I threw on my over ear headphones, set the sound to Sleep (mood), Wave (tone), Weightless (vibe) and laid down to rest. I slept like a baby. I don’t mean metaphorically. I mean I was so out I woke up in the morning having peed myself thoroughly, for the first time in my adult life. I’m not saying this app will do this to you, I’m saying it would be a really crazy coincidence if it wasn’t related. Next, I plan on trying the rest of the settings and am now prepared for what might occur: Study - I’ll complete the remaining 12 courses in my Masters degree in 18 hours Flow State - Nope, I don’t dare. Peak Awareness - finally living my dreams as spider man with newfound spidy senses! and finally Relax - where I will probably nap until Wednesday, 2022 If I ever try Sleep again I’ll make sure I’m wearing an adult diaper next time. Highly Recommend
I work from home and get a couple hours in early in the morning- like 5 am. I pretty much sit up, grab my computer and get to work from my bed. I’m sure you can understand how easily distracted I can get. This app has been a game changer for my focus! My productivity has been through the roof since I started using it this past week! Such a great app!! Show more

    Unable to reset my password
I really enjoyed the app until I was logged out and have not been allowed to reset my password. I know this doesn’t seem like a big deal but for someone as technology challenged as me, it can be. Show more

    Recent update created issues
I loved this app but with the most recent update, the sound turns off the second my screen goes black or when I open another app (i.e. email).
