Not bad but missing critical features
I'm REALLY happy the developer decided to make this app. I have been looking for a native DI.FM player for macOS for years. The good news is: it works as advertised. The bad news is it is missing a few key features to make it really usable. Specifically: support for macOS media keys, support for a global hotkeys for things like pause/play, next channel etc. The ONLY way to interact with the app is to click the menu bar icon and press the buttons. This gets old really quickly. If those things were addressed, this would be an easy 4 or 5 star app. Show more

    Could use more work
I too do not want Safari open for music. I found Headphones difficult to figure out and get going. After several tries I found the login control. The login bombed when I used Passwords to autofill. I did get it logged in, and then found that tapping the button on my Beats did not pause the audio. Based on the response below - which tries to pretend I did not have a di.fm account, I have deleted the app and requested a refund. Little hope for quality or improvments here. Show more

    missing a bunch of channels.
if people are paying for your app, your might as well keep it up to date.

A good start, but could use more work
I like the idea of this app, and it's a nice alternative to keeping a browser tab open to DI.fm and using the web player. And the slowly shifting colors in each channels "block" are a nifty touch (ooh pretty). BUT, it's quite buggy on my mid-2013 13" MacBook Air running Catalina: * Music won't play much of the time (when I click on a channel, the spinner starts spinning, and then nothing happens); restarting the program fixes it. * Often the play/pause and thumbs up/down controls disappear. * The channels are rendered in one column with white bars on either side, rather than in two columns. * The left part of the text of recently-played tracks is cut off. If those bugs were fixed, the app would be much more pleasant to use. The addition of a few features would also improve the user experience quite a bit: * A text field below the All/Popular/Favorites tabs, allowing quick filtering of the channels on that tab as I type. * A new "Recent" tab which shows the last N channels I played, or any channels I played in the last N days. * Integration with the Notification Center's "Today" view's "Now Playing" widget, which I'm used to using with Music, Spotify, and even DI.fm's web player. * Allow me to resize the window, ideally by dragging its border, or even just by implementing a preferences view which lets me pick from a handful of canned sizes; the window feels a bit cramped at its current size, and I'd prefer to roughly double it in size in each dimension, listing 4 channels on each row, with ~3.5 rows of channels visible in the viewport. Headphones _does_ play DI.fm at nice quality, without skips and - once I get it going - without hassles. So I feel like there's the core of a really nice app here - it just needs a bit of polish and a few improvements. And it's hard to quibble too much about any program that only costs $2. :) But for what it's worth, I'd rather pay more, like $5, and get a fully-debugged, featureful app. Thanks for the nice start, guys - I hope you keep working on and improving this app!
