High Frequency Sounds

3.63 • 16 Ratings

Screenshots

Listen to various high frequency sounds! The pitch of a sound is determined by the soundwave frequency. These high frequency sounds are made by fast sound wave vibrations, while slow vibrations create low pitched sounds. As you age, your hearing abilities decline so that you are less able to hear high pitched sounds. This means that these high pitched sounds are effortlessly heard by young people, but not so easily detected by older generations. Test your hearing (or your parents’ hearing!) with these high frequency noises!

    Quite underrated
I find it odd that it only has 3.6 stars as if typing this review, and this is because (at least for me) it completely works and does the advertised things. I believe any cases in which it hasn’t worked for people are likely outdated software versions, user errors, or “flukes”. But in my scenario it has to have a 5 out of 5 stars because it does exactly what it is supposed to and does not bother me ever with anything, the only advertisements being unnoticeable and at the bottom of the screen, never pop ups. The app works exactly as intended even if you can’t hear it
This app functions exactly as expected, it is absolutely great! The only issue is that I wish the tone buttons on the user interface were in order ie: 9k 10k 11k, etc not 9k 13k 16k, but this doesn’t detract from the app and is a fantastic way to mess with my family. When a lot of people say they can’t hear it, this is true. The app is working, but a lot of people can’t hear these sounds. It simply depends on your ears. Most people over 30 cannot hear anything played on this app and a lot of times people a born with ears that cannot register the sound, the app is working perfectly it is not the apps fault, it yours. Here is a nice video from one of the smartest guys on the internet, at 2:55 he explains how your ears get worse over time and it is harder to pick up these tones Show more

    Can’t stop tone
There doesn’t appear to be a way to stop the tones. You can change frequency but it keeps gong until you quit the app.

    Doesn’t work
Non functional. And to the moron who said anyone who can’t hear it isn’t “young enough” you are an imbecile who does not understand the purpose of this app or how anything in the world works. Show more

It’s great aside from the ads
Just a pro tip don’t play 18000HZ because and ad will play and no matter how far you through your headphones, the sound will continue to play through the ad just long enough to give you permanent hearing damage. Show more
