In recent years, a growing movement of bands has started to reclaim and reinvent aspects of the progressive, post-punk and post rock genres, re-establishing a desire to experiment with eclectic musical sources and sonic possibilities. Kscope was created to provide a home for this evolving, flexible and adventurous style of music without boundaries, and was launched in May 2008 with new albums from first signings, The Pineapple Thief and No-Man. These releases have been followed by albums from Anathema, Richard Barbieri, Nosound, Lunatic Soul, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, Engineers, Anekdoten, Blackfield and North Atlantic Oscillation. In line with our spiritual predecessors 4AD, Harvest, Mute and Charisma, by drawing on a combination of exciting new and established talent, Kscope hopes to provide a focused and creative nurturing place for the growing and diverse post-progressive scene. This app will include news updates from the label along with tracks from featured albums, videos and more.

    Only one artist?
The previous comments said it seems an app for the band Anathema; but mine seems to be one for The Pineapple Thief! Actually it could be a great app if it could cover more artists. Show more

    Only one band?
Love Kscope artists, but this app seems to be only about anathema... Expand list of discography and music please

    Needs work
Seems like an app for the group Anathema. Whenever you click on "Music" you get their new album. Everything else you have to search for, and then only get twitter feeds. Show more

    Forward thinking music promotion
Contrast and compare:Record Industry giants sit behind their desks wringing their hands and calling their lawyers to figure out how to stay alive... Kcope Music has embraced the opportunities arising from the digital age. To promote its fantastic lineup of extremely talented artists Kscope has designed an easy to use website and web store of course, produced Podcasts featuring their artists, uses both facebook and twitter fan promotion and now has designed an app to tie it all together. The app provides full length sample tracks of featured artists, news updates, fan chatter, videos, store access and more. The interface is clean and fast and pleasant to use. I would suggest a direct link from the app to the podcast, and to make the store a bit more iPhone/mobile friendly, but these are early days and I'm confident that the MobileRoadie is working hard to keep us all satisfied :) Show more

    App?Advertisement? Social Engineering?
All of the above. Music is changing and those that branch out will prosper. the trick to the success of this app will be frequent and informative updates. Much of the content here is available on websites strewn across the web. Here it is, much like the NIN app, all in one place. For a new app, it pretty much does what I expected. Think of it as a springboard to the music of KScope and the people that collect around it. This is a great app to stay in touch, and learn more about the bands, with links to media and other users. Again, hope it stays current, and relevant. I know the bands that are represented here are worth following. Show more
