    Once You Get It
Lots of capabilities and idiosyncrasies. Almost too many capabilities. Once I figured out how to find the paths to do what I want, the app works well.

    Good solid platform
Have been using this app for about 2 years now. Control point for Minimserver with local stored music and Bubbleupnp for Qobuz on a networked computer. Using an SOTM unit as an endpoint. It has been stable and intuitive enough to navigate. Glad they keep it open for non linn product owners. The initial setup took a bit to understand as you have to switch between (local and streaming sources) under “systems” It is stable control point and thats what matters. Show more

Issue with iOS 16 - perpetual ‘waiting for rooms’
… powered down/up Kiko and all is well.

    Can’t They Make This Better?
Fantastic streamer. Lame interface. Confusing and not intuitive.

    Mostly good … but …
In general, app is easy to use. So far the only problem is an important one: I can’t find My Playlists! I save songs to My Playlists, I navigate to the My Playlists on the Browse tab in the My TIDAL, and … nothing. Where do they go? Show more

Hi-res streamer , awful app experience
Dear Linn App Software Engineers, This is an open letter to you with the belief that you can do far much better than this. I would like to get your attention here. I wanted to take my time to write a blunt review, because I do value Linn as a product and as a unique experience it offers. First of all let me remind you that you are the developers of an app that is an integral part of Linn streaming devices which costs up to £35,000. So it is absolutely essential that your app quality is also on the top like the linn devices are which is not the case at all. Sometimes the quality of the app exclipses the quality of the device if you know what I mean. I have been using your linn app for the past 4 years. I personally own a Linn Klimax DS3 and I remember clearly the day I installed your app. What a disappointment it was, especially considering the sound and the build quality of the product. Thankfully we have many apps to compare in the market including the apps built by companies like Linn and this product no matter how patient we are; the design, UX/UI and the response times of the app while using it is a constant disappointment. You need to consider seriously rewriting the app from scratch. It is surprising to me how the management cannot recognize it to this day and did not take any measures to remedy the experience. For the record I am using the latest version of the app (and the latest firmware for the device) as I write this review. This is 2022 and the app freezes occasionally. Sometimes it cannot be initiated. You have no option but to restart it in such cases. The search is awful. Cannot find albums or tracks on many occasions. I sit to my couch to relax with some music and the I face the linn app experience. It takes 8-10 seconds for the app to recognize the search string and retrieve the expected result. Yesterday I was reviewing Valve Bone Woe album. The bitrate was labeled as “weight” and the text was 0 khz /24 bit 0 kpbs (hi-res). Seriously? (Iphone 13 pro max user here). The app sometimes logs you out upon opening the app. When you open the app what you get for qobuz is “waiting” ? I am required to login with my linn username and many times with tidal/qobuz usernames because it somehow kicks my user. This can go on and on. There are many apps in the market and you should live up to the expectations of the Linn users as we are the owners of the best products in the hifi world. Show more

    Not any better
This update does not address the single biggest issue with Kazoo - when the app comes back to foreground after the phone to lock screen or you are using apps for a while, it hangs “looking for rooms”. The app has to be killed and restarted to work around the hang. This new app suffers from the same issue. Show more

Promising but plenty of work to do yet
First the good bit. Searching for music now gets and organizes results for every connected source and presents them separately, just like Roku has been doing for a decade, and without mashing everything together like Roon does. FINALLY! With that out of the way, heres where I found it weak. The white on gray theme is jarring and tougher to use, especially coming from Kazoo. No choice between album covers or list in search results. No option to resize or condense information on the screen and padding is too large. No sort or filter criteria on search results (date of release, quality, A-Z). Slightly tighter integration with Linn account, that’s fine. System inputs (hdmi etc) are now on the system page and not listed together as a music source, and music sources are now in a new ‘browse’ screen. It’s kind of the opposite of Kazoo and not really better... yet. The app desperately needs a dark theme, more search control, more system control —leaving the app for the website is lame—but this is a good start. Show more
