Do NOT buy. It does NOT work. (I know Macs well.)
I took a chance, figuring it’s no big deal to risk $2.00. I should have known better. There is essentially no interface, although one can figure out how it is SUPPOSED to work. And sometimes it does work. Sometimes (see below) it will load an MP4 and stream it without interruptions. I’ve tried to open an MP4 with Chrome and cast it to a brand new Chromecast on a 5Ghz channel, and even with very fast connection, there are splutters and delay with Chrome. With this app, the streaming is uninterrupted—but only WHEN it works. And it worked for me 15% of the time. Yes, I made 100 attempts and only 15 worked. But it’s more annoying than that. When it fails, you have to quit the program and reopen it. You can’t just “try again.” And while you may have NAMED your Chromecast, this app does not reconize the name. You better write down the full serial number to know which Chromecast (if you have more than one.) The experience with streaming videos from websites was equally frustrating. It worked about 30% of the time. Want assistance? You better speak Italian, because the so-called “developers” site will be undecipherable to you otherwise. Apple claims to have a refund policy, but it doesn’t. If you try “report a problem” the ONE problem they will NOT respond to is if the problem is that the app doesn’t function. Again, I figured a $2.00 gamble was worth it. But I did throw away $2.00. I’ve used Macs for 30 years, I am NOT a newbie, I used to edit a computer magazine, and I would ask you to take that into consideration when weighing the probity of this review. But in the spirit of fairness, I’ll list my system specs as your experience MAY differ (but I doubt it.): MacPro late 2016/touchbar/retina, Intel i5, 3.1 GHz, 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3, 500 GB SSD Show more
