Mira Controller is the perfect companion app for Max by Cycling ‘74. Whatever you build in Max, you’ll see the results immediately in Mira. Work with a wide selection of Max UI objects including multislider, meter~ and umenu. Also supports the mira.multitouch object, which receives multiple touches and handles taps, swipes, pinches and rotations, as well as mira.motion, which receives accelerometer data. You can also work with Ableton Live specific objects like live.grid and live.meter~, so you can design a custom iPad interface for your Max for Live device. Whether you connect via Wifi or USB, connect to Max with no setup or network configuration. Mira gives you lots of options to build the perfect interface. Just drop a mira.frame object into your Max patch for each region that you’d like to see on your iPad. You can choose whether you’d like to view objects as they would appear in patching or presentation mode. New in the latest version, you can also have Mira connect to Max as soon as it launches. This makes Mira ideal for use in installations or as part of a museum display. Mira controls any number of Max patches on any number of computers. You can also use multiple copies of Mira to control a single patch. Any instance of mira.frame can be controlled with the Mira iOS app, or from a web site using Miraweb. - Automatically control any number of patches from your device - Use mira.frame objects to define viewable regions in your patch. Each frame shows up as a tab in Mira. - Support the majority of standard Max UI objects. - Use the mira.multitouch object for gestural control - Use the mira.motion object to send accelerometer data from your device - Multiple instances of Mira can control a single patch for collaborative performance - Works over WiFi, an ad-hoc network, or USB connection (Mac only) Mira Controller for Max is for users of Max by Cycling ‘74 only. Mira requires OS X 10.6 or higher, or Windows 7/8. It also requires Max version 6.1.4 or higher. Mac USB connectivity requires Max 7.2.4 or higher.
What’s New
We are adding two new Mira options specifically for kiosk and installation displays. The “Hide Config Menu” option will disable the menu button that normally enables the user to connect and disconnect from various instances of Max. The other option includes “Connect to USB Automatically” and “Connect to WiFi Automatically.” As you can guess, these options will cause Mira to connect to local Max instances without needing to open the setup menu. These settings, available from the Mira section of the Settings app, make it easier to use Mira for public displays without the added risk of users accidentally disturbing the configuration. This version of Mira supports live.meter~, which provides finer detail than the standard meter~ and a lingering clipping indicator We hope that live.meter~ support will make it easier to build the interfaces that you want with Mira. Finally, we’ve made numerous small tweaks to Mira, resolving a handful of display and stability bugs.

Works great for my use case, hoping for an iPhone version
I use this with setlist and its kind of perfect for triggering the tracks wirelessly. Is there an iPhone version coming by any chance?

    Broke connectivity
After updating to this version, I can no longer connect to my patches. They're still on the same wifi network, but I am no longer able to even see any patches from the iPad end. In the splash screen, it gives several solutions to the problem, none of which fix the problem. Show more

    No bpatcher support yet.
Still lots of fun. Money well spent.

Love it....so much easier than using Lemur
If you're a Max user, then Mira is a no-brainer for remote touch surface control. I've been a long time Lemur user (and Lemur is still the best if you are using other apps but it is just orders of magnitude easier to create a "surface view" inside a Max patcher and then just throw a mira.frame over it for instant iPad gratification than to create a layout with the lemur editors synchronize it and then build all the OSC stuff that you need to communicate with it, even more if you need bidirectional control. I particularly love that adjusting the size of the mira.frame controls the "magnification" of he actual view and that multiple mira.frame objects give you multiple tabs. Show more

    More Object Support?
This is a lovely application, but (for the price) there needs to be continued and more frequent development updates and additional object support.

    Great first release
Big time lemur user and was excited to have. A direct connection to max to simply things. Some glaring omissions such as containers and menus, but a solid first release, well worth it hd have already switched over many projects from lemur. Looking forward to future releases. Show more
