The Moog Model 15 App is the first Moog modular synthesizer and synthesis educational tool created exclusively for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Each facet of the Moog Model 15 modular synthesizer has been meticulously recreated in this application to ensure the power and transcendent sound quality of each module remains intact. The character, harmonic complexity and mystique of the Moog Model 15’s modules, from the legendary Moog 921–series oscillators and 904A Low Pass Filter, to the coveted 907 Fixed Filter Bank have been painstakingly preserved. In order to develop the most immersive and expressive modular interface possible, the Model 15 App has been designed utilizing Apple’s new Metal advanced graphics engine. This ensures that all zooming, panning and modular patching throughout the application feels completely natural, something that would have been impossible otherwise. The Model 15 App features both monophonic and 4-voice polyphonic operation is easily commanded via 4 seamlessly integrated controllers. Simple swipes and taps provide instant access to a traditional Moog keyboard, 1150 ribbon controller, 8-step sequencing arpeggiator and the award-winning Animoog keyboard with 22 built-in scales and polyphonic modulation capabilities. Also included are extended features which expand the capabilities of the app beyond the traditional offerings of the hardware Moog Model 15. These include total MIDI integration, assignment for external control, use as a MIDI controller, dedicated Audio Bridge and MIDI Bridge modules, looping recorder module with overdubbing, a master ping-pong delay module and a new extension cabinet that includes additional amplifiers and voltage-controlled reversible attenuators that can be used for effects like ring-modulation. Because the Model 15 App utilizes Apple’s Metal technology, only 64-bit devices are supported. Compatible devices include iPhone 5s or newer, iPod touch 6 or newer, iPad Air or newer, and the iPad Pro. The Model 15 App requires iOS version 12.4 or later to work. Additional Features • Ships with over 160 unique presets • Recreates the sound of a hardware Moog Model 15 modular synthesizer • Easily share presets and recordings with anyone • Tutorial patches to assist all experience levels • Intuitive patching and cable coloring • Support for landscape and portrait modes • Voltage-controlled stereo ping-pong delay • Expressive sequencing arpeggiator • Moog 1150 Ribbon controller • Real-time looping recorder with overdub and immediate sharing • Up to two controllers on-screen (iPad only) • Optional left-handed UI operation Supports • AUv3 Audio Unit Extensions • 3D Touch and Apple Pencil integration for after pressure • Note-per-channel MIDI controllers • Ableton Link • Inter-App Audio and Audiobus • MIDI Bridge and Audio Bridge • 7 and 14-Bit MIDI • MIDI Program Change • Bluetooth LE MIDI controllers • Typing keyboards for shortcuts and musical typing • AudioCopy, AudioPaste and AudioShare

    Incredible!!
If you want to learn modular without breaking the bank, this is the app for you. The tutorials teach you how all the modules work and how to patch them, there are presets you can play around with, and this thing sounds nuts. 10/10 Show more

    Broken already?
Update for Model D app from 5d ago says fixed an issue with Logic Pro when standalone app hasn't been run. Bought the bundle, launched both standalone apps, launched Logic Pro, and STILL get an error saying "unable to load" on both plug-ins? Did anyone bother testing these before release? Show more

    Moog knows whats up
Come for the history, sit down and listen to the story, then prepare to not spend your college fund on a hardware version of these synths. Ok, thats a little exagerated. BUy these Moog sound Apps. Animoog is my favorite by far, but these are a close second. So well done. So complex. Intimidating.... wait, is this a good thing? We'd all prefer knobs and switches, but this will work well with any number of controllers out there. Arturia comes to mind. And they won't go out of tune. Show more

Great modular fun but there are bugs.
This is a lot of fun to use. I'm running it on my 14" Mac while traveling to get my modular fix. At first blush it is a little annoying having only 2 VCAs and 2 envelopes. Bu this pushes you to use the other utilities included like the attenuverters with CV control. The general behavior and sound is very close to what a real modular is like. Minus the drift and instability. This is a pro and a con. When you are doing "analog" FM timbres they come out great and will tolerate a litle detune without collapsing into fuzz. In real life you spend way too much time tuning things within a millivolt to get it to work. On the other hand there is less of that breathing sweating throbbing analog instabiltiy that we perceive as fatness. I own vintage and modern Moog synth hardware and that still has a depth and weight that I can't quite get here. But honestly, whether you are just noodling or building tracks it's hard to fault the sound. Nobody is going to stop shaking their behind because you used a softsynth. It's just something us synth nerds worry about. There are a few bugs and inelegant decsions. A couple of times per session I have the whole app blank out except for the borders. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes not. There is also a weird arrangement that the standalone app saves patches in a different place and format than the AU instrument does. I suspect this is a byproduct of migratiing this from the mobile app. There is also a huge volume difference between the standalone app and AU instrument versions. Such that when you construct patches in standalone, they will be deafening in AU mode. So you have to remember to crank the volume down before you save them. And I find myself always in standalone mode becasue it is painful to navigate as an instrument window in Logic unless you have a huge monitor. This is not insurmountable. But it does insert some inelegance in an otherwise perfect experience. Overall I love it and have been using it a lot for basses and melodies. If I could change one thing, it would be to allow us to change modules. II'd love more historical modules like the Bode shifter, and be able to change the type of each of the 3 oscillators. Show more

    Good stuff
I own 4 moog synths and love them all. This app is a amazing addition to the moog collection ! Great for learning to patch and for just plain fun. And with the MacOS version, you can download a app from moog to integrate with Abelton or Garage Band. Good stuff. Worth every penny. Show more

    I like it
It can be a bit fiddly to use but there are a lot of sounds to explore.
