“My John Hancock” is an iOS (iPhone, iPad) agreement-signing app. Currently, it is only intended for use by us (Irthlingz), to facilitate getting agreements signed for using musical compositions, arrangements and recordings in apps, such as our apps on the Apple App Store. Typically, it is used by a copyright holder to sign an agreement allowing the copyright holder’s musical creations to be used as permanent digital downloads in a mobile app in online markets such as the Apple App Store. Irthlingz provides the copyright holder with an “agreement number” which the copyright holder enters when the app starts. This brings up the appropriate agreement. The copyright holder signs and clicks the “Submit” button. This brings up a number of sharing options, hopefully including email! The copyright holder emails the signed agreement to Irthlingz, and we submit it to the online store as documentary evidence that we have been given permission to use the third-party material in our apps. The copyright holder can also send the agreement to other email addresses, save it locally, or use any of the other sharing options available.
