QuickMIDI enables you to connect a MIDI keyboard quickly and play sounds easily. You can also add your favorite SoundFont (SF2) and change the tone. Note1: SoundKeyboard runs with wired (USB) and wireless (Bluetooth) MIDI keyboards. However, I cannot guarantee the operation with all MIDI keyboards. Note2: Developer may end support for older macOS without notice.

    Notes stuck ringing
    Not working on NI Komplete Kontrol keyboards, if too many notes were played simultaneously or too fast together, some notes would get stuck and keeps ringing until you find it and hit that key again for it to stop. Show more

    Exactly What I Was Looking For
    For a long time I've been looking for a lightweight midi app that lets me play my midi keyboard on the fly, so I don't have to keep a GarageBand session open all the time. Sounds great for the price (free!), touch sensitive, and the UI is mimimal. Very happy I found this app. Show more

    PERFECT !
    Fast and lightweight, allows me to check out something on a MIDI keyboard without launching a DAW and waiting for it to load. I haven't had any problem with it being always "ON" as it appears to use next to no system resources when it's running in the background and not being used. EXCELLENT! Show more

    What I've ALWAYS wanted!!!
    As a professional musician sometimes I need something fast to pull up a sound to learn a quick part or find a key of a song, chart a song etc without the need to open up a DAW or load a large sound bank etc. This ALSO sounds really nice for what it is. All other MIDI apps in this category sound like the cheapest lamest piano ever. Thank you to makers of this, this will run every time my computer loads from now on and will be ready at a moment' notice when I need to work out a quick part without the frustration of waiting to hook things up to use.     No longer functions
    Prior to Mohave, this was a unique and really useful app. All it did was sit in the taskbar and allowed a connected MIDI keyboard to sound through the system like a piano. I had it launch on startup and used it all the time. But starting with Mohave, the app crashes on launch. I tried contacting the developer to no avail, and also reported it to Apple. I wish it still worked because there's nothing else like it on the App Store. :( Show more

    Doesn't have adjustable volume control
    It work as the description, but it doesn't have volume control. So when I hit the key, it sound very low while the youtube audio is louder under the same volume. Show more

    Almost perfect
    Was looking for a way to have my midi keyboard always available for play and this app works great. Would love for it to remember my keyboard though as each time it starts it auto selects my interface as the midi input. Other than that it's awesome. Thanks! Show more

    Incredible App
    This essentially makes your midi keyboard an always-on piano. Something I love having to sketch out ideas, figure out the chords or melody of a song, or kill some time fiddling around when I'm bored on a zoom call - all without having to open MainStage, Logic, or any other DAW. There's no inherent volume control built-in to the app, but the app responds to the volume slider on my M-Audio Keystation61 MK3. Well done, Takuto Nakamura! Show more
