Sleepytime is a slick and functional sleep timer and alarm clock for iTunes, Spotify, Rdio, Ecoute and Pulsar. It features a gorgeous animated display showing the current song's title and artist, as well as the time that remains until the music stops and other relevant information. At last a sleep timer and alarm clock that's easy to use! • Support for Multiple Music Players : Sleepytime 2 introduces support for players other than iTunes. Sleepytime can now control iTunes, Spotify, Rdio, Ecoute and Pulsar. Your favourite player is not supported? Send me a feature request. • Sleep Timer : Sleepytime can stop your music after the duration you choose. Have the music fade out over time so it doesn't stop abruptly and wake you up. • Alarm Clock : Wake up to your music the next morning! Sleepytime guides you through a few simple steps to make sure the volume is just right when you go to sleep and when you wake up. The app can fade in the volume so that you wake up smoothly and refreshed. • Computer Actions and Scripts : Have your computer shut down, restart, go to sleep or have Sleepytime log you out of your user account when the music stops playing. Or have it run any script or Automator workflow if you're using Mountain Lion. • Text-to-Speech : Sleepytime 2 introduces text-to-speech support using any of Mac OS X's built-in voices, including the high quality voices introduced in Mac OS X Lion. Have Sleepytime tell you the time and/or a word or sentence of your choosing when you snooze the alarm. • Player Controls : New in Sleepytime 2 is a player control bar. This bar, located just below the animated display, enables you to quickly skip tunes, toggle repeat and shuffle, change the volume and more for the active player without requiring you to bring up the player in question. • Works With Your Apple Remote : Snooze the alarm by pausing iTunes with your Apple Remote or by any other means you're used to. No need to unlock your computer! Note though that Apple Remote snooze support is limited for players other than iTunes. • Fullscreen : Go to sleep watching a nice and calm animated night sky, or any of the nice built-in fullscreen compositions. The song, artist and remaining time are also displayed in fullscreen mode. • User-Created Fullscreen Compositions : Sleepytime 2 enables you to create and use your own compositions in fullscreen mode. If you don't want to create one yourself, you can download compositions by other users in the Sleepytime Compositions Gallery. • Backup Alarm : Make sure you always wake up on time even if your favorite player doesn't start playing. Very useful if, for example, you're using Rdio and your Internet connection is down when the time comes to wake up. A note on the alarm feature: Sleepytime unfortunately cannot start or wake up your computer from sleep. This feature can't be added to the app right now due to technical limitations. PRESS MENTIONS: Macworld (May 2011) : "For people who like to go to sleep or wake up to music, Sleepytime is a great little app. […] Sleepytime is a nice, simple app that does its one little thing very well." MacLife Magazine (Dec. 2010) : "Sleepytime is more than a slumber-inducing tea--it’s also the name of a helpful sleep timer for iTunes. […] It’s perfect for nighttime listening." ... and more!

    Needs Serious Updating
Was a really good app until Monterey and M1 Macs...! I use it all the time to go to sleep at night. What happens is in the morning I see that my signin screen is up and and then after that a requester window to send the crash result to Apple. Sometimes even that crashes. Not happy that I have to deall with this....! I now have to give this 1* starr due to lack of attention from developer for over 2 years. Until developer fixes this serious bug I will not retract or change this review...! Show more

    Great app, great support
The developer of the app is very helpful and responsive to questions and concerns, but more importantly, the app is amazing and I significantly prefer waking up to music I actually like (from Spotify or other platforms) rather than the default alarm music on my phone that makes my ears bleed. I highly recommend this app! Show more

    Almost what I want...
This does almost everything I want... I need it to start playing the night music at a specified time and then stop after a specified duration (I like two hours) using the playlist I choose in SleepyTime. The point is I don't want to have to start the evening music, I want it to start on its own setting the tone of the evening to be one of time to start thinking of bed and sleep. This helps train children (and dogs (and adults)) to go to sleep at a good time and be calm. One more star for a five star review if this can be added! The morning fade in and fade out feature is nice. Thanks! PS. Frankly, this is functionality that should be built into the Macs and iOS devices. Kudos for doing it. PPS: I just ran into a quirk. I am trying to test the wakeup and it is giving the message "The alarm is set to go off before your music stops playing! You should fix this." with only the option of "OK" which accomplishes nothing. It should have "Cancel" and "OK" such that "Cancel" does what "OK" currently does and the new "OK" proceeds so I can test the wakeup settings. Also, the dialogs about the set up upon pressing "Sleepytime!" should be able to be turned off so it is just a one button process to go. Show more

Finally! Great app! The future is here!
Falling asleep to music or whatever soundscape you want - and then waking up with music. Isn't that what everyone wants? How is it that the mac doesn't COME with this feature? Besides that, super responsive in the customer service department. Couldn't be happier. Thanks for making this app! Completely worth it! Show more

    It works as advertised
On the ugly side, but it works. I use it with audiobooks. It would be nice for the app to work with chapters as an end point. A go back or forward a certain amount of time, ie, one minute, five minute ... would be great. Thank You Show more
