This app is NOT affiliated with Spotify. Soft Player allows you to view and control your Spotify playback directly from the menu bar. You can play your playlists, albums, and queue and transfer playback between your Spotify devices. You can also seek to position in your tracks, like tracks, change the volume, toggle shuffle, and change the repeat mode. Touch bar support is included as well. Requires a Spotify premium account and the Spotify desktop application.

    Installs Malware On Your Computer!
    This product installed not only Soft player, but also guroshield, and 2 other strange things that suddenly made my lapop go a bit batty. Pay attnetion to these Apple signed extensions. Many of them are BOGUS! Show more

    Has all of the features I need
    I really like being able to search for my playlists right in the menu bar, and I can transfer my playback to my various speakers. The keyboard shortcuts make it quite easy to change which song I am listening too. Show more

    useful app
    super good for spotify on computer, no need to open up the full spotify app to complete actions

    M1 Support & Lightweight
    Great app. Works well with Apple Silicon (M1 Max) chips, and Activity Monitor shows that it's only consuming between 15 to 60 MB of RAM. Wish I had discovered this sooner. Show more

    Unusable.
    Worked for a few minutes when I first downloaded it, but now it won't let me quit the app, and won't let me uninstall because it's open. The popup window is always on my screen, and my mac's audio quality is somehow far worse now, both on speakers and headphones. It was fine when it was working, but now it's just terrible. Might have to format my computer to get rid of it. Update: was able to quit it and trash the app, but only after I restarted a number of times, granted it access to my Spotify login again and could go into the app itself to quit it. I have to say, when it did work it was pretty cool, but the fact that I was thinking I would have to nuke my device to get rid of it because it wouldnt go away soils the experience beyond belief.
