SpeakerCalc is an easy-to-use graphing calculator that supports do-it-yourself cabinet design for a woofer or subwoofer loudspeaker system. It makes use of the Thiele-Small parameters available from speaker manufacturers, and displays essential response curves such as sound intensity levels and cone excursion. Analysis features: - Sound pressure/intensity level curve - System impedance curve - Support for passive radiator designs as well as closed and ported enclosures - Port airspeed and vent length - Passive radiator mass output for resonance tuning - Off-axis directivity attenuation calculation - Alignment choices for ported (vented) and closed-box designs Convenience features: - Continuous parameter adjustment via slider, with instant response curve update - Automatic parameter units conversions - Creation, saving, and editing of designs - Several built-in driver specifications, and easy entry of more The in-app help document can be previewed on the support site.
What’s New
Driver selection for a design has been moved to the Driver parameter panel, like other parameters, for a more natural workflow.

    Unusable garbage
This program claoims to be a speaker box design program. It isn't - for example, it doesn't give you port length for a ported design. Add to that the fact that is "quits unexpectedly when you try to do various things, like recall speaker paramteters, and it's just plain garbage. I tiied to contact the seller for info - all you get from the Apple store is a ling to a help file that doesn't include much help. If you buyt this, assume you're just throwing away your money. Exactly what you need!
I was been looking for something like this and stumbled on SpeakerCalc. At $20 it’s not cheap, but compoared with the full blown design tools at the speaker building sites it’s a give-away. And it does its job perfectly. So, for less than the price of a mid-range tweeter from Pats Express you can design your enclosure and see the response. The graphical interface to the results, and especially the slider that allows you to adjust the enclosure parameters and see immediately the full response, is totally satisfying. You need the Thiele-Small parameters, but most sites supply those; if you’re buying from someplace that doesn t tell you what you’re getting, change places. The help file is sparse but complete. More explanation would be welcome, though. The interface is attractive and mostly intuitive. I would have done things a little differently, but I don’t hold it against the developers. So: perfect for its purpose. Thank you, developers. Show more
