ToneBoosters Spectrogram shows a real-time spectrogram of the incoming audio signal! We have taken the spectrogram feature from our latest and greatest dynamics compressor plugin and released it as a separate app / AUv3 plugin! Check out our dynamics Compressor plug-in with zone compression and external side chain support here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tb-compressor/id1517791397 The ToneBoosters Spectrogram app captures the microphone input and processes the signals in real time. To use it as a plug-in, use an AUv3-compatible host app such as Steinberg Cubasis, Apple Garageband, Audio Evolution Mobile Studio, Auria, AUM, or others. ToneBoosters Spectrogram will appear in the list of Audio Unit extensions for effect plug-ins. Key features: - Start/pause button - Variable sensitivity to adjust and improve visuals - Fully resizable (as AUv3 plugin) - Color themes for the user interface - Max screen support in Garageband - Legacy Inter-App Audio (IAA) support - Optimised for iPad and compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch What you should know: - Inter-App Audio (IAA) can only use one instance of this app simultaneously. We recommend to use an AUv3 host to use multiple instances. - Licenses acquired for this platform are not compatible with other platforms. - Audio Unit (AUv3) extensions require an iPad mini 2, iPad 4 or later models. Needs to pause when the host pauses
The overlay of named keys would be incredibly valuable if it wasn’t so fleeting. The failure to respect the paused state is incredibly frustrating and limiting

    A good spectrogram
I have not yet found the perfect spectrogram app. This is one of the better ones. It is simple. The spectrogram is very clear and presented well. It shows sound and the results are intuitive to a novice. It seems to lack advanced features such as adjusting the FFT parameters. In particular, switching between linear and log would be a first feature to add. Allowing a a recording of the spectrogram would be good. Producing a spectrogram from an audio file in Voice Notes or from a file would be good. But if you’re not an engineer knowing what these features mean and you just was to see what sound looks like then this is a good choice. Show more

    terrible spectrogram.
when I tried this, I was deeply disappointed. for one, the quality of the spectrogram displayed was terrible. it was incredibly pixelated, and there was no setting to fix that. furthermore, it couldn't display higher frequencies. it provided absolutely no help doing anything. I strongly recommend a different spectrogram. in my opinion, spectrumview is the best. another problem with this was the unstandard color of the spectrogram. no other spectrogram uses black to brown. that's just dumb, as even the loudest sounds will appear brown, which is a fairly dark color. this app is a steaming pile of trash, the developers obviously don't know how to make a proffesional spectrogram, and have most likely never used one. Top notch Toneboosters Plugin!
Another great tool from a solid & reliable company!!!! I love that we are finally seeing analyzers for iPad if I could make one small suggestion a spectrogram is a powerful tool but a waveform display would be a great option as a in app purchase. This would make it easier to mix on an iPad if we could see if the waveform of a master is is too squashed or too dynamic especially after long sessions when your ears become fatigued. 5 Stars.
