Voice Metronome - Multi-Lingual Edition Although there are many metronome apps in the Apps Store, but this one is quite unique, because this apps use a human voice to count the beat. There are total 17 spoken voices in 11 languages to chose from, including languages: English - both American and British, French, Italian, German, Chinese - Mandarin and Cantonese, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, and Korean. Some voices include male and female voices. Beside spoken voices, there is an option to switch to woodblock sound, if you prefer percussive sound. The meter can be set from 2/4 to 9/4, with subdivision from 1 to 4. The tempo can be set from 30 bpm to 240 bpm. However, if the tempo is too fast, the subdivision has no meaning. So if the tempo is faster than 120, the duplet option is disable, if the tempo is faster than 90, the triplets option is disable, if the tempo is faster than 60, the quadruplets option is disable. There are separate volume controls for the first beat and other beats. There are six different skin layouts, wooden board and metal plate etc. There is a 440 Hz tuning wave sound for tuning instrument.

    There is no sound unfortunately.

    No sounds!
It seems to bounce the little red ball to the proper beat, but it doesn't make any noise. A silent metronome - how do you rate it?

    Needs work
I've wanted to build an app like this for many years but never did because I discovered years ago that someone held a patent for this (no idea if it would hold up in court though) so I was pleased that an app finally became available. However, it needs a lot of work. 1) when I started it for the first time, the second beat was slightly early (or the first beat was slightly late!) 2) when I tried using subbeats,it didn't always work and when it did, to my ear the intervals were not perfectly spaced so the timing engine is not working well. This makes it not usable for me. Show more
