i want to use it as a midi cont ctlr source on the ipad pro. i start the loop, assign cc #, choose destination open synth in midi on ribn, go to the synth and assign the # in ribn to cc in the synth. play the synth . nothing happens. all examples are to control hardware, not internal ios synths, but it seems like it should do this. same setup works with midilfos app fine. i dont even know how to write the developer. Simple - intuitive - and incredibly powerful. I love it! UPDATE 2021: while I still make use of Ribn, I do wish it would receive a little maintenance... A little modernizing/updating? I'd gladly buy a new version that can be hosted as an AU; especially if one can record/store and recall automations between sessions. That would be an absolute dream. But at a minimum, I wish that it would preserve its state/config for more than what seems like twenty minutes. As I'm using it, switching back and forth between Ribn/AUM - it will eventually open up in is initialized state - having lost all CC assignments / automation. :( Even so, I love Ribn. I just wish it loved me back. Show more

I’ve only recently (re)discovered how far iOS has come in music making, and this is an essential tool! With the ease of assigning CC values to synth parameters in AUM, for example, Ribn gives me 8 modulators that I can set, or “draw” for looping variations, and easily change on-the-fly. It’s true that good things come in small packages because this simple little app does a wonderful job!! Show more

This app is awesome! So simple to use and such a great utility to have. The connectivity options are great. I’ve been using it with my eurorack which is awesome with such a small footprint running alongside my rack on my iPhone. At $2.99 this things a total steal and must have app. I also gotta say, the design is really nice and appealing. It’s just asking you to play with it. Show more

It is a very nice app but I would love to see it fleshed out a bit more with more MIDI destinations (like pitch bend) and slider smoothing so that sliders do not jump when you tap them or at the end of a loop. The developer is obviously very creative and talented so I am excited to see what they come up with. Show more

This app rocks. Works incredibly well if you know your way around MIDI or even if (like me) you don’t. I hooked it up to my Eurorack system using a Squarp Hermod via iConnectMIDI and via USB (both worked) and was able to modulate stuff without issues. Having that tactile interface is wonderful. If it can interface with my Eurorack, I’m not worried about it working with any of my other usage scenarios. Next thing to test would be using iPad and iphone simultaneously in one rig! Show more

Beautiful. So many possibilities :) I’ve been hoping for something like this where you can assign cc to a channel and quickly record and control - think of it as 8 looping custom envelopes or complex LFOs you can tweak and loop live. Great easy interface. Would be good to have a PAUSE button added to the right of center to pause live without having to menu dive - and on opposite side from the undo/clear button so we don’t accidentally erase a set. Also would be great to be able to save a set of control IDs. Whether that’s saved like a preset we can name to remind us which device the preset is for, or whether there are 8-16 snapshot buttons. Next I would love to be have an advanced setting menu where we can assign custom LSB type controls. Or even better MIDI LEARN to auto assign a knob tweak to one of Ribn’s looping faders. That would be killer - and save looking thru manuals. I also use MidiToolbox app for that purpose to see what cc a knob sends out what manuals are not nearby. Show more
