    Great app
Running on Mac Mini M1. Used to control volume and pause/resume music via Airplay streaming from iPhone. Works great for these purposes.

    Barely Usable
If there was something better available, I'd switch. The single most maddening feature is the inability to remember your source. Select a song, close the window and listen. Decide to switch to another artist and you'll need to start over navigating to your music server (which for me is six clicks). Is it too much to ask to remember where you last were? Show more

    Downloaded and .... nothing
Dead icon sitting on my desktop. Nothing loads, no little icon in systray ... Meh. Give this a hard pass.

    A handy app
I have a 2014 mac mini running Big Sur operating system. I also have two Yamaha Musicast systems. I use the YamaCast App to change internet radio stations and to adjust the volume in my living room, where my computer is located. The app icon stays at the top of my monitor screen when the app is on. The only thing that I have not figured out how to do is to turn my Musicast receiver on and off. The app does not seem to be able to do this but maybe it is due to how my router is set up. It is nice to be able to change the radio stations and volume from my computer while I am working at home. Can't control speaker sets
I bought this for one feature: the ability to turn on or off sets of speakers from my laptop. The iPhone app has this, although it's buried a little. The desktop app seems to have no ability to do this. I have to ask, what is this app for except linking and unlinking receivers? Show more

    Volume control from my desktop!
Installed it, clicked on it in the menu bar, it found my amp without me doing anything. I changed the volume by moving the slider and it worked! Success! nice app! Show more

Volume control for receiver(s) in Mac menu bar is very useful
Controlling receiver volume from the MacOS menu bar is the go-to feature for me. Picking up a remote and pointing it at the receiver is not the most onerous job, but clicking on a menu item and being able to drag the volume level instantly beats it any day. (I also use YamaCast's play and pause controls sometimes, although that can also be done with other add-ons to control the Music app (née iTunes) directly.) My only feature request would be to allow renaming of receivers to something other than their model numbers; I'd love to be able to change YamaCast's label "Room (CX-A5100)" to "Living Room". (The developer has notified me that I can use Yamaha's MusicCast iOS app itself to do this, although I haven't set up a MusicCast network yet, instead using AirPlay on iOS exclusively.) Show more

    Tidal integration is not great
I use musiccast to stream tidal and was hoping to find a nice integration for that - but it's somehow worse than using the musiccast app. You can't search and you have to move between different areas of the app just to go backwards... i.e. If you're listening to an album and want to change to a new one you have to click "Tidal" then click back, then click Tidal again, then click back, then click tidal again, then back, then tidal again THEN you're finally at the tidal root - where you can only choose between stuff you already have set up. Frustrating for 7$... Show more

    Where is my amplifier?
Lists every zone for every amplifier separately. But when I hid the unused zones, entire devices disappeared after restart, and there's no bringing them back ('show all hidden zones' does not do anything, and the device is shown in UPnP Diagnostics - just ignored by app). Sad part is that this is my "primary" device. the fact the application refuses to work with the device i care most about makes the application very promising, but not quite delivering ... Show more

Seems good for streaming, but how do I control the Yamaha input?
I can see the options for streaming music to my Yamaha receiver, but how do I change the input of the receiver itself? I may have not understood what this program was supposed to do... Show more

    Fantastic App!
If you have Yamaha MusicCast audio gear get this app. We have Yamaha WX-010 MusicCast speakers scattered throughout our home and the YamaCast app provides a awesome interface for controlling the music playing on either a single speaker or a group of linked speakers. When I first installed YamaCast I was unable to unlink or control the volume of speakers linked to a master speaker. I brough this issue to the developer's attention and the problem was quickly resolved and now everything works perfectly. Show more

    Great App
Just installed Yahama WXA-50 amps in 4 rooms. Use Air Play. Tried to link devices to Yamaha iphone app (Music Cast) and eventually gave up. A total piece of garbage. I came accross the YamaCast app for my imac and it immediately found my devices. Works great. Only thing I am disappointed with is that the app is not available for iphone. Show more

Just like the app but NOT
Its like the FREE app that is on your phone or ipad but kinda clunky. Advertises that you can CAST your local Itunes library to musiccast devices but you can't use anything that you recieved from apple music. mostly because of there apple protection. Also I couldn'y unlink one of my speakers unless it is from the main system. This app is nothing special should have saved my $6.99 Show more

It can’t find my Yamaha musiccast speaker. Just keeps “looking."
The app can’t find my Yamaha musiccast speaker, it just reads “looking for speakers” as a blue line shows — I tried unplugging and plugging my speaker, but no change. A complete waste of time and money. I’ll just use my Yamaha speaker via my iPhone. I was hoping I could control it from my macbook with this app, but it doesn’t work. I should have waited until there were some reviews before I purchased this app. Show more
