    Roland Super JX, Super Jupiter?
I’m loving the controller but would REALLY LOVE an MKS-70 and MKS-80 controller. You have the 50 there lol, but these aforementioned are LEGENDARY Roland rack synths!

    Update: JD-Xi fixed
Had been using this app with my Roland jd-xi for quite a while and it functioned very well. Recently they updated the app and I unfortunately tried the update. It’s Terrible. Constant hangs and crashes, I’m unable to edit patches properly because of how often the app crashes. It most often crashes when transitioning from one page to another, which sadly you must do frequently due to the new version having changed the workflow. Update: Spoke to the developer and they updated the app, it no longer hangs or crashes and works as smoothly as before! I’m very impressed at their responsiveness and kindness about my problem and am happy to use this app again to get the most out of my synth. Show more

    Good Blofeld editor
Happy Blofelder here. This thing makes it more than a dust collector!

    Thank you
Now my Proteus 1 opened up. My Access Virus TI2 is now a joy to program the matrix section. Thanks

    Please add custom randomization
Pretty please, I use it on Roland JP 990 and 5080

    I don’t get it.....
Now in addition to the Mac subscriptions I need to subscribe or purchase separate iPad licenses. That seems awfully greedy. Also no way to test the functionality of the iPad versions. It’s a shame. Lots of potential in the Mac versions with some improvements but judging by the grabby give me give me give me attitude this is not about the end user. Show more

    Deepmind 12 user here
Bummed for over a year that Behringer no longer updates their app for their debut synth and that it no longer works on devices past iOS 13. Thankfully, I still have a functional iPad2 and just acquired an iPad3 for back-up that the abandoned Behringer app still works on. However, Patch Base’s editor and librarian does it better and is super stable on newer iPads. I’ve only spent one evening with it, but am very pleased so far. While the nifty patch blend function of the manufacturer’s original app is absent here, the rest of the interface is pleasing to use and has a logical layout. The parameters respond to the touchscreen with smooth and confident precision. Other developers should take lessons from this one. Hands-on control of the control sequencer in the app is FAR superior to futzing around with menu diving and button pushing on the synth. I’ve not yet done much with the librarian, but seems very handy to be able to drag-and-drop patches into a desired order per bank then transmit that to the synth. This function might easily prepare set lists, enhancing the gig-ability of the synth. One little nitpick: the app does not recognize or respond to parameter changes made on the synth. However this might be useful in a live situation where one might tweak a patch with the app, then make further hardware modifications to completely whack-out the sound, then instantly bring it back to the previously app-tweaked state with the transmit button on the app. Nice function. Perhaps another shortfall: a change made on the app causes the synth’s parameter to instantly jump to app’s setting. I prefer the “pass-through” option on the hardware. Overall, it is so nice to have an iOS programmer for this synth again. Yes, the app might be a tad expensive, buying a programmer for each of these synths, but it works extremely well and the coding is top-notch pro level. Well worth the cost to those that want enhanced programming tools for their synths. A little more experimenting with the Deepmind12, and I might jump on the MS2000r to ease that one’s menu dives as well. Subscription option is handy, too if borrowing a synth or two for a project that may only be available for a couple of months. Five stars from me. Show more

    I love it
Got the app for my matrix 6 and for my Yamaha tx81z and I love it. Works great and give these synths a new dimension. I also like to experiment with the random function especially with the weird FM sounds on The Yamaha. Show more

    Worked for a little bit
Tried to get this to work with a Yamaha tx816 and had success at first. Then wasn’t able to get it to connect again. Also tried this with an oberheim matrix 6r and could not get this to work. Needs more robust documentation. Show more

Perhaps some one should fix this app
This just straight up didn’t work for me...

    Worth it.
I was on the fence and a bit skeptical about buying this for my SY77, due to the higher price and my previous not-so-great experience with other editor apps. I probably would have passed on this one too, if not for the librarian feature which I really needed. I’m never ever gonna due the ‘subscription’ thing with any app but I decided to take the plunge and by the individual editor. After figuring out what nameless icon does what... I am thrilled with this. Great UI and runs smooth and reliable on my ipad6 and I can finally easily organize and store my patches from tons of aging floppy disks that have been gathering dust for years. Totally satisfied customer here. If you made versions (with librarians) for the Yamaha EX5/r and the Motif XF I’d buy em in a heartbeat. Please consider it. Cheers. Show more

    Crash Crash Crash
This app seemed like it was going to be a big help for me as I have several of the synths that it supports. Having a mobile editor/librarian seemed like a great idea. Too bad this app crashes every three seconds! It has been many a year since I have encountered such frustration from an iOS app. Try to fetch a patch. Crash. Try to save a patch. Crash. Try to initialize a patch. Crash. Try to send a patch to my DX7-IID. Crash. This is not currently a professional piece of equipment. It is currently a hot piece of garbage. I’m so glad I didn’t waste my money buying the individual editors. I did the subscription which I will be canceling right now. I’ll be back if you can make this app actually function. Show more

    Crashes
Whenever I try to change the algorithm on the Volca FM synth the app crashes. Can’t even use it.

    Maybe it’s just me...or my FB-01 ?
Spent hours trying to get my head wrapped around this. Stalled during sysex transfer and crashed frequently. Thought it was user error. Found out by more hours of googling that an iOS update (14.2) wrecked it. Wrote the developer, and they got back to me quickly verifying that 14.2 was no bueno and suggested 14.3. I grabbed the latest iOS, and my hopes were high. Random patch generator no longer crashed the software, and I was able to dump banks 1 and 2 and see the patches. Now we’re getting somewhere. But, sadly, that’s about it. Can’t seem to push into the unit (yes, write protect is off) and the interface is confusing. Although I’m sure it makes sense to the developer. I usually pick things up quickly, but this is baffling to me. Lastly, it can’t seem to midi assign ports correctly. I swear, it was working, and then it wasn’t. If I can pull sysex, midi out doesn’t work using the virtual keyboard. If I trigger notes by assigning a port, then I can’t pull data. Maybe it’s just me. Maybe my unit is defective (although it plays, and midi quest trial was able to pull sysex. Midi spy also reports sysex data being pushed when dumped from keypad) . Lots of wasted time, left a bad taste in my mouth. More online tutorials or videos sure would help. Stopped working.
Purchased over the summer, took a little bit of finagling but was able to use the app both via hardware interface and network ( sort of). However I have not been able to get it to work as of late... I have tried it with a mini log as well as it’s easy one and I have not been able to load a panel between either of them. Maybe note data is not a problem, but that’s not exactly why I have this app… Whenever I try to upload patch data from the iPad to the CZ1 the app crashes. I have a years subscription which started in July and I’m getting the feeling that I’m not gonna get much use out of it. I think I am in refund territory, but I wonder whether the developer is responding to reviews anymore as I’ve seen somebody expressed the same disappointment and have yet to receive a response... Fantastic gateway to Matrix-6R
This iPad app is a miracle for those interested in bringing to life their old synths with beautiful sounds but terrible user interfaces. This software solves that problem and works very effectively. Show more

    Falls short of its potential
As a synth hobbyist and developer, I really want to like patchbase. But for me it has 2 or 3 fatal flaws. First, using it with my DX7IIFD frequently gives "MIDI buffer full" messages, and I have to reset the keyboard. It is unusable. Second, it looks like an enormous labor has gone into it, but the interface really bugs me: - Everything has animation effects so the knobs don't feel snappy. - There is no undo button. - Icons are cryptic and patch management is unintuitive. Finally, there is no concept of community contribution to support more synths. Given the above, the patchbase pricing model is way over the top. Would rather spend $500 on a boutique hardware controller than $30 on patchbase. How about unlocking a 24 hour demo for $1? Hoping a future release solves some of the issues. Show more

    App crashes on iPadOS 14.2
App seems amazing but quits every time you hit the midi send button. Would love a patch from apple or patch base as the app is not usable as is.
