Get ready to rethink everything you know about DJ apps! I love this app so much. I’m a host of a family-friendly comedy show on a nonprofit streaming radio station. I don’t have access to a standard computer or laptop, just my iPad. I get a headache trying to figure Izicast out. I need something that just works. Something easy to figure out, user friendly. Backpack is that app! It’s incredible all the things it can do. I can mix my show live as I’m broadcasting! And the developer, Ed, is super friendly, fast to respond, and patient with people like me, who like to ask a lot of questions, lol. I can’t speak highly enough of this app. So intuitive…every day I learn more and more about how powerful this thing is! Also fantastically easy to pre-record shows to be streamed later. I love the app, but it's being weird. Every time I open the app, it says error internal. What do I do?

I love this app! It is very helpful, especially to a completely blind person who is just learning how to podcast. The only thing I would say that it needs, is some more effects, reverb, Echo, DeLay, chorusing, etc. Other than that, I give it five stars all the way! Show more

Let me first say how much I really enjoy backpack studio. It has helped me through my various podcasts that I've done over the last year. However, when I updated and I went to look at The backpack live thing or the soundboards, it would kick me off and back to the home screen. I don't know if it's a backpack thing or something having to do with the iPhone itself, but would really appreciate if they could be fixed if it is a Backpack studio thing. This a wonderful app, but I’m finding that the buttons are not responsive when you tap them. They either don’t respond, when you tap it, or the graphics play but no sound. This is horrible for live play back, because you’ll have dead air, trying to initiate any one button. **8/22/2021: Updating this post, to say save your money, and find a better alternative. This is not good for live podcast, or recorded shows. Buttons will not fire when engage, and when they do, there’s no sound. Imagine being 2mins in, on a perfect recording, and touching a button for either music, or sound clip, and nothing happens, and you hit it again, but by this time, the moment, and mood is gone. You’re thrown off your thought, cause you’re too busy trying to engage the buttons. Yep, happens way too many times to be trusted. Show more

Awesome, period!

This is awesome. Can’t recommend it enough. I did one of my live radio shows for Shouting Fire station live from the Black Rock Desert. Just me and my iPhone, headphones and a mic in the middle of the desert. It worked perfectly. Have recommended it to all the other Shouting Fire DJs who do shows live from all over the world. I am using voice over. But I cannot figure out how to export the podcast. I tried with one button podcast And I have a podcast that has a total of three pads connected. How do I save them into Google drive? your tutorial does not tell me how to do this Show more

Love the backpack studio app! Only one problem: tapping the artwork icon crashes the app—every time (I was going to subtract 1 star for this, and the fact that the email address bounces, but the pros outweigh the cons, & the dev has support available on Twitter & FB). PROS: 1. Works great, even wireless earbuds (just don’t monitor the mic, it will drive you nuts) 2. Highly portable (just try to minimize ambient noise—unless intentional) 3. Low, one-time cost 4. Many file options. Not limited to iTunes!! 5. Can add photos to create “video” files for social media CONS: 1. It’s the best. Hands down. He should charge 100 bucks for it. My only concern is I fear the developer will abandon it. I’ve tried to reach out three times over the last few months and heard nothing. If podcasters knew about this app before buying thousands of dollars of equipment they could save so much money. Show more
