    Utter Garbage
Imagine if apps existed in the 1990s and you were dealing with one from the ‘70s and you might get a close approximation of how terrible this is. I have a $1200 Onkyo Receiver and $5000 worth of Klipsch speakers I cannot calibrate because of this worthless app. It won’t even connect. And don’t bother going through the Onkyo app to get to Dirac either. It’ll connect that way, but consistently gives an error. Show more

    Didn’t work.
Clearly based on reviews this app has issues. It certainly did for me. I could not get it to work at all with my Onkyo I kept getting problems where it was saying the Audio was clipping which seems ridiculous. Nothing I did would stop the issue so I had to run the MacOS version which worked fine. For something that clearly is suppose to be the leader based on the hype they don’t know what they are doing from a UI/UX perspective. What baffles me even on the Max version is why yo need to manually adjust values for speaker volumes. The software should be able to automatically calibrate itself. Secondly, I didn’t get the best results until speaking with others and I had to manually go back and adjust levels to get it to sound right. Isn’t this supposed to do that? I guess this is what happens when a company has an apparent lock on what people consider the best. I’m not so sure. Based on their presentation they certainly have a ways to go. Show more

No Mac or PC Dirac support?
Don’t know why the app doesn’t support modifications or profile switching from the app. It’s pretty bizarre, seems like obvious functionality to include.

I prefer using the Dirac through the Onkyo controller app instead.
When I first downloaded the new Dirac live phone app. It was having a hard time detecting my Onkyo TX-NR7100. Eventually it detected my receiver. Then the calibration came. And that took hours to finish. Due to it was detecting that it was to loud. After the calibration was done. It didn’t sound as great as the first time calibrating through the Onkyo controller app. Deleted the Dirac live app. And tried to calibrate through the Onkyo controller app. But I only get an error now. So I had to repeat it all over again with the Dirac live app. Not to happy with the sound after calibrating. Show more

    Terrible
So prior to this latest update the app seem to work fine and I was able to calibrate my pioneer elite receiver. Since this latest update the layout is terrible and everything I do it will not load my saved projects. For being such a highly regarded program it is a shame that a proper app has been so poorly executed. If I was a AV receiver developer I’m not sure I would buy the license to use Dirac in my product. Hopefully someone is listening and reading these reviews because someone definitely needs to step up their game. I am more than willing to change my review if you prove me wrong Show more

Seems to do its job on my nad m33 using an iPad
I stay away fro the lower left button/ instructions and go directly to edit filter using the upper right button after measuring. Thanks for the quick update

    Horrible design
I wish I did not upgrade to this latest version. The design is horrible and unintuitive. The older version had better features and looked more professional. Please revert! Can’t even save or load target curves anymore? Update: after performing new room correction on my M17v2i with an iPad and the latest update, I was getting a really weird sound profile. It sounded like the speakers were out of phase because the voices were not centered and sort of all over the room and in your face. After double checking the wiring, I ran Dirac on my Mac with the latest app and the sound profile was perfect. There’s certainly something wrong with the apps filter calculation. Show more

  • Whatever Dirac, 31.10.2021
    DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME
This app has not been updated in years and DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. Dirac would also not work on my Windows laptop. I finally got it to run on my wife's Mac, and it completely killed any life, excitement, or vibrancy in my system. It is not the panacea it is advertised to be. Dirac's tech support is also non-existent (so is NAD's, btw). Lots of time and energy wasted on this application. Hopefully this review keeps you from wasting yours. To Dirac - if you are not going to put even a modicum of effort into supporting your app, at least be courteous and take this stale, non-working version down. Seriously. You are not doing yourself ANY FAVORS leaving it up. Show more
