    Octachron
Excellent sequencer app, blown away by its complexity, A MUST HAVE, changed my music and has a small CPU foot print in my iPad, highly recommended, If you need a drum or synth sequencer app, there is no other. Show more

    Like Baby Bear’s porridge…
Not too complicated. Not too simple. In other words - just right! Recent updates are great! Dev is active on AudioBus forum and very responsive. Great app! Great dev! Just awesome! Love the possibilities of this app with the variable track lengths, probabilities, and a lot more. It’s great driving something like Ruismaker or even used as a sequencer for a synth. The most recent update fixed an issue with NS2 which is my go-to music app. Quite pleased! Show more

As of the very recent update this app is now ??
Simple looking step sequencer with a ton of power behind it. One of my favorites on iOS or Max desktop, or any hardware really.

    Great, easy-to-use drummer sequencer
Jamming with it is a no brainer. Great app.

Great AU Drum or Note Sequencer
This is a great app for sequencing drums, with probability, repeats, velocity options, etc, plus you can change the speed of the sequencer, add different swing. You can also auto populate different keys to use it for notes. 16 or 32 steps. One of my favorite Au midi drum sequencers. Nice clean UI. Great App. Definitely 5 stars! Show more

    Ugh so close to perfect
This is the closest thing I’ve seen to a perfect step sequencer on iPad . With minimal work it could be perfect. But it’s missing 2 key features that actually make it worse than a lot of sequencers out there for the user 1. No note length. Makes it useless for anything but plucks and drums. Just adding a gate modulation row would make me use this sequencer above all others. And would raise this review to 5 stars 2. Only 1 octave. This would be harder to fix but also less important imo In any case this is so close it makes me sad every time I open it. Extra cool thing would be midi recording. Show more

One of a kind drum sequencer on iOS
Octachron fills an important niche on iOS as an AUV3 MIDI sequencer mainly focused on drum sequencing. The interface is efficient and attractive, making for a great workflow. The app is actively being developed which is a plus. Show more

    questions
i’m using this to sequence an old Alesis SR-16 drum machine. i’m able to sequence a drum beat successfully, but two things i’m wondering: 1. can i set it so it plays/triggers the midi note when i tap on a particular row/drum name? would be helpful to make sure i’m triggering the right note without having to play my whole pattern. 2. can i rename the notes/drum names? also, it takes forever to change the tempo. click and drag or tap tempo would be a huge improvement. thanks! Love this step sequencer but it is buggy!
Ok so i figured out how to midi route this step sequencer with EG Pulse since i can drag and drop my files from files app into EG Pulse very conveniently. All first 8 pads are routed and everything is great but this step sequence keeps repeating notes that I don’t have any repeat on. Specifically with the first slot which i have my snare preset to and it just repeats the snare hit when I don’t want it to. Second bug is for the second slot and the problem i have with that is my kick just mutes when I turn song mode on so i can get 64 steps. The first 32 steps for my kick, which is the second slot, just does play and it unmutes for the second pattern. Super frustrating when this step sequencer is suppose to speed up my workflow. Fun
Unable to tie patterns unless I’m skipping a button. Pretty clean. Wish it had more features like pioneer squid I think this can add more muscle to this app. Cpu sometimes spikes weird Show more

    Ugh.
It’s great in a lot of ways, but every single time I switch patterns on Ripplemaker, iSEM, Retro Piano, and any other synth I’ve tested inside apeMatrix it skips the first note! Ruismaker is fine, but I should be able to use common pitched plugins with any sequencer I pay for. Show more

    So good
If you want to sequence drums in IOS, this app is the one to get imo. Straightforward but with a lot of good variation options (probability, polymeter, patterns). It's so nice to control various tracks at once on the same app. For the price it's absolutely worth it. I do wish that it was easier to switch between the parameter being automated (not easy to change live). Also not being able to set all automation steps to the same value makes automating pitched drums hard. But it's still a great app. Show more

    Glitchy GUI
Everything is slow like app is in a low resolution that produces a choppy visual experience when using the app on my 12.9 2nd Gen iPad Pro in AUM with digistix Show more

    Setting midi channel per track
Would be incredibly useful if tracks could be configured to send on different channels. I own a Korg Volca Sample which accepts midi but has each track assigned to its own midi channel (1-10) Show more

    Unwanted noise
Using the app with ThumbJam and getting unwanted random notes being played, at this point and time this app is not useable for recording.

    NO MANUAL
This program is impossible to understand without a manual. Until there is someway of figuring out how this app works I give it 1 star. This is just another program I bought that I can’t figure how to get it to work. For crying out loud gives us a manual!!!!! Show more

    Tutorials, help guide?
Purchased it but it offers no users guide or tutorials. Developer assumes that because he knows how to use it, then buyers do as well. Very poor support and caring about buyers Show more
