The UI is just scrolling around a 2D screen. And the key are very tiny and glitchy. Also why must you sell a port of open source software?

I'm so glad there's a sunth that can load all the DX7 patches! That being said, this app suffers from the exact OPPOSITE of the original DX7, too many controls on the front panel! My dude, thank you for making this app, but make tabs/pages for the controls. One giant scrollable main page is just un unuseable... Show more

Broken...does not work. All glitchy and won’t load any of the presets. Abandoned, it seems. KQ Dixie is FAR better in every way.

When trying to use breath controller patches, the parameters in the SETUP screen do not work at all. It is not possible to get DEXED to respond to breath controller data even when these settings are set right and the patch has been specially designed to respond to breath. This is a serious bug. Please fix. Show more

Makes annoying pop on note release in lower register . Not sure the UI is usable, very cluttered, need to play with it. That pop has to be fixed.

Major glitch in Cubasis 3 causing projects to not load and freeze when reopened. iPhone 11 iOS13.3.1

I really love the fact that Dexed got ported to mobile, but it just won’t work. It’s so glitched out and buggy that it’s impossible to take seriously. It won’t open most of the time and when it does make sure you don’t turn your device from portrait view to another angle or it will just fail. You can’t play more than one note at a time or keys start sticking, at least for me. The scaling feature is more of a burden then a help. But even though I’ve just trashed on it, I do see it’s been getting constantly updated. That’s good, and the desktop version is pretty solid and I enjoy using it often. I’ll change my star rating as it gets better for sure. I plan on keeping it instead of the normal return because I want this app to succeed and I think they deserve the money to help it get better too! Show more

I like the synth because it has nice sounds, but it is really buggy and the user experience is not good at all. I find myself not using it much, because every time I use it I’m getting frustrated of its sluggish, unpolished feeling and the random crashes. Show more

Been using the VST version of this for years and it rocks, this port has some serious issues that need fixing. For instance when using it in Cubasis as an audio unit, when I hit cart and then start browsing the folders and pick a cart there is no way to get back to the synth editing parameters. I hope this gets fixed because this Dexed IOS port sounds great like the VST. I have old school Yamaha FM synths like my TG77 .. but with Dexed VST they just collect dust, and now I’m trying to transition away from my desktop computers to iPads only. Please please don’t abandon this iOS port guys! Big time thanks in advance! Show more

I gave Dexed 3 stars because I’m a long-time fan of the company and have enjoyed the Mac OS version. But it currently crashes my iPad Air 2 after a few seconds. Will come back to reconsider rating once more bugs are fixed. Show more

Dexed VST is amazing and I’m sure this runs well on an iPad. But since I don’t have a working iPad at the moment I love that the app is allowed to work on iPhone. Granted there’s a lot of scrolling around on a small screen but it’s better than not being permitted to run at all. I appreciate having the choice, as I’m sure others do too. And it sounds great and has an unprecedented patch library for any iOS synth. Show more

Until it’s more stable I wouldn’t default to this for live playing.

I am an experienced iOS synth user, and am familiar with classic FM synthesis mechanics. This app is based on a classic desktop tool, but currently it is nearly unusable on a 3 year old iPad with tons of storage. Basic patch browsing and note playing via iPad screen causes repeated crashes. Even babying it doesn’t help! Show more

The interface works fine on a 3rd generation iPad 12.9" and fills the whole screen in both landscape and portrait. It is pixilated and I hope the developer polishes it up. It is great to have all the synth's settings displayed at once and only one other iOS app shows as much. The most similar app is KQ Dixie which has a similarly complete but much less busy interface and is a much more polished app with a better keyboard. However, Dexed includes a huge patch library which KQ lacks. I have not had a chance to compare the sound of the two apps. Hopefully, Dexed's developer Wil continue to improve it. Show more

The AU window only shows you a small portion of the controls on iPad Mini and 10.5 inch Pro. It appears that the developer tried to fix it with the last version. Currently, the only way to use the app is to load the AU in AUM, and orient the device vertically, then go back to horizontal, to access the other presets and preset banks. There is no Inter App Audio with which to record or add FX to the standalone app, which displays correctly. It's technically usable, and it sounds amazing. Hopefully it will work properly soon!
