I’ve had, and tried, this app for several years. I normally don’t give negative reviews unless it’s really warranted. This app is horrible. It doesn’t remain connected to the Yas-209 for even a night. The only way I can listen to the sound bar is with the supplied remote. Show more

The sound bar works better than expected but the remote is a piece of junk that barely works

Have to reboot the soundbar every two weeks to get it to connect in the app.

This app is constantly losing the sound bar and set up ongoing is constant. Thank goodness they provided a remote.

Not working

My sound bar app always worked from my iPhone until I updated to OS 16.1.2. Now it won’t connect through wifi.

Please fix: theGreat sound from Yas 209, and app works ok but it plays my Tidal playlists in reverse.

Sounds great, volume is inconsistent & has to be adjusted.

Poorly designed app with an even worse user interface. I was able to connect my sound bar to our home Wi-Fi for the 18-20 months I have had my ATS-2090 sound bar. However, recently I noticed that my subwoofer was not working. I nailed the problem down to the sound bar not being connected to our home Wi-Fi anymore, nor was it recognized by the Yamaha app. I have reset the sound bar and attempted to add it again to the Yamaha app, but I am unable to as the app consistently tells me I am entering in the incorrect Wi-Fi password. I am not, I have copied the password verbatim and attempted to do this 5-7 times with no luck. It’s unfortunate that an poorly designed app has rendered my sound bar nearly entirely useless. It cuts off by itself all the time. Switch it back on and works for awhile then randomly quits. Looking for an update but can only update by thumb drive. Just never works right. Show more

After firmware, hdmi no longer works.

It asks for permission to access Bluetooth then only searches for Wi-Fi which the YAS -203 doesn’t have. Stupid

The remote broke and we bought a new one. That one also stopped working. The app is not able to control the sound bar. Once we were able to get the app to control the sound bar it no longer works. The sound from what you are watching is replaced by pulsating noises. Terrible product. Show more

Great updates and sound

Sometimes it connects to the sound bar, sometimes it doesn’t. But Alexa literally never shows up. It’s so bad, that I have a separate Echo device connected through Bluetooth to the sound bar so that at least I have that functionality. Love the sound, hate the app. Show more

Never connects terrible do not waste your money on Yamaha sound bars

I would NOT buy a Yamaha soundbar if you want smart home integration. The integration to Amazon Alexa is horrible. Voice commands that worked for a while like “Alexa change input to TV” are now followed with a response “I don’t know what you meant by that”. The “built in Alexa” is a light version, no integration to full feature Alexa sources like Apple Music, it will not replace an echo if you want all the features you expect in a device with Alexa built in. The app also lacks certain controls you expect, for example the soundbar automatically turns off after and undisclosed period of time and there isn’t a setting to change the duration or leave it on permanently. The app works fine. I just wish there was a more direct way of accessing the sound settings.
