    Complete game changer!
I’m blown away by how these headphones & app have impacted my practice regimen. I love playing guitar. I love my 3 amps. I love playing along with music…unfortunately, my family does not share the same love!! I get it, it can get annoying listening to the same song over & over & over, while I try to get certain parts down or noodle around with my own ideas. It had gotten to the point where I barely practiced anymore because I didn’t want to be annoying. Those days are over! I can’t seem to put the guitar down now! I love the options & effects that this app brings. It’s given me the ability to experiment with effects that I never thought would appeal to me & I’m thankful for it. It’s opened up my imagination & allowed me to be more creative with the music that I create. So far, I haven’t had any connectivity issues, as some other reviewers have mentioned (using iPhone 13). I can switch from the app to Spotify without issues. Be sure the Bluetooth is connected to “Waza MIDI” for the app control & your music is connected to “Waza Audio” in your Bluetooth settings. Push the Bluetooth button in on the right headphone until you hear a beep to connect to “Waza Audio”. Yes, it can be connected to both! Is the app perfect? No, but c’mon…it’s pretty close. I completely understand the complaints & demand for landscape mode. The interface can use an update & some customizable features. Lastly, I think adding a metronome & basic looper, if possible, would be a great addition. Those are the only reasons I dropped a star. All in all…an awesome tool that’s making me a better player & I’m having fun with it! Thanks Boss!! Show more

Headphones are amazing. App is crap
First of all, love my WAZA air headset, total game changer in my guitar practice, and it works alright for bass too. However, the app is crap. It doesn’t work right most of the time. I can go through the same sequence and get communication error most of the time, though sometimes it does work, hence the 2 stars. Show more

    Features Rich App
I like this app alot. So many features that allow you to tweak the guitar sounds in so many ways. Not the easiest to use. I love to see more enhancements to the app. Ex: Left to right sliding bar is easier then meter style. Show more

    Needs landscape mode for iPad!
How difficult is that to do? Come on!

    Boss needs to update app
The EV-1-WL Bluetooth pedal no longer connects to app after the iOS 15.5 update. Come on Boss, this kind of developer latency is unacceptable. Yes, the app is free but the hardware is not, and it is dependent on the software. Show more

    No metronome?
It’s nice that the app has a built-in tuner but… no metronome? Please, the app needs one. Being able to practice with wireless headphones is priceless, but not being to do so without a metronome is counterproductive. Also, when playing, sometimes the headphones stops producing sound, even when the transmitter has the green light on. I have to unplug the transmitter and plug it in again so it works again. Worst User Interface
Clearly whoever designed this has never used any musical equipment or any of the iOS apps for instrument interface. It’s ridiculous and nonsensical - everything from the controls themselves to how you turn effects on and off are so alien to guitar players as to be unusable. Show more

Useless because I can’t connect to it.
I tried using this app on my ipad, iphone, and ipod touch. The ipad and ipod touch were never able to connect to the Waza-Air at all. My iphone did connect to it, but when I tried to use the app to edit the settings on one of the sound patches, I kept getting a message that the app was having trouble communicating with the Waza-Air. So I tried turning bluetooth off and back on against to reset the connection, but my iphone was never able to detect the Waza-Air again. Without a functioning app, the Waza-Air is no better than a $30 plug-in headphone amp, yet it costs $449. So I’ll be returning it soon. Show more

Bluetooth malfunction in this 1.1.1 version
You can hear your guitar and all the incredibly cool effects no problem. That is not the issue. The issue is also using the headphones to sync with my own music. iTunes, Spotify, whatever. I cannot hear anything. The Bluetooth connection appears but there is no transfer to the headphones. The music just comes through my iPhone. I see the WAZA AIR MADI in the Bluetooth menu. But nothing else. I have tried to open the software update for 1.2.0 by following the boss instructions and the zip won’t open it’s in a.BIN file. I’ve been to guitar center they can’t help. I cannot get a live person at boss. They refer you to online supportWith an apology stated in writing! No live person. Frustrated beyond words especially when their demo video looks so simple. Until this version is updated from the source I would stay away from this product. Show more

    Not bad
The app does what it needs to do. The layout is a little cumbersome but in line with the Katana line. However, why is there no metronome? I’m mean that should be a no brainer! Show more

Great little headphone so so app
This app is cumbersome to work with. Love the headphones themselves as they sound great once you figure out how to dial it in. But dialing it in is a pain in the butt. I also have a Fractal FM3. The display on that isn’t a lot bigger than my phone but it’s a lot easier to work with. Not a lot of useful info on best way to work with the Waza app either. That’s what you get from a big company sadly. The latest update results in a ‘cancel typing’ screen on my phone if I touch anything in the app. Annoying. Also note that a lot of the complaints are related to the limitations of the unit itself. Like the dual purpose knobs. They exist because there’s only so much processing power available. I’m ok with that but there has to be a better way to deal with it. It’s like they built this great little guitar toy but lost interest when it came to the interface. Show more

Ver. 1.1 crashes page 2 parametric EQ
The latest version crashes whenever you select Page 2 of the Parametric EQ FX. This doesn’t happen on the Katana-Air app.

Oh lord is this confusing! Please design something a little more intuitive and/or provide a detailed tutorial on YouTube. Thanks

    iPad app doesn’t go landscape
My iPad is my main guitar tool and it works good on my phone but the fact that it’s only portrait mode on the iPad really disappoints me

Any chance of an in-app recording feature?
I have owned a pair of Boss WAZA-Air headphones roughly since they became available. They’ve been a great way to break away from having a tangle of cables from my bass in order to practice anywhere and anytime, with or without using the app. I’ve used them to practice at home to music on my iPad or iPhone, I’ve used them to practice backstage before a show or while traveling. As a bass player, I feel that Roland/Boss have not done enough to make this product as good as it could be, such as only having 1 “bass” sound available. It’s clearly designed with guitarists in mind, but I have even used this with an electronic drum pad, to practice along with songs in a playlist. For me, and I would like to think for many others, having an in-app recording feature, or the ability to link to another recording app, such as GarageBand or Cubasis, etc, could make this combination even more functional and fun. Oftentimes, i set aside a portion of my practice time to improvising and working out song ideas. Rather than having to take the headphones off and stick a microphone inside the cups or disconnect from them and hook up my regular recording rig, taking valuable time away from capturing a fleeting idea, I would love to just be able to either go into the Boss Tone Studio app or be able to use Cubasis, etc., to record these little session nuggets while they’re fresh. As a user, I attempted to reach out to Boss US and the first response I received said that I needed to reach out to their parent company Roland Japan. When I suggested that whomever was responding could just as simply send along my recording feature to someone higher up, I received a response that said legally they were not allowed to. Ok, but on the Roland website, there is no visible location/link to submit a message or reach out to a customer service person. The Boss US service folks said posting on Facebook to see if people were in agreement would be one way to see things happen, but I’m not on FB and don’t intend on joining just as a way to see this through...maybe people on here will read this and take it the next step or perhaps Roland/Boss are already working on it...all the same...if there are others that think this is a worthy idea, let them know. App is unusable on iPhone with no home button
Just got a pair and while they are pretty amazing device but the app is not usable on my iphone 12. The app has no padding at the top of the app to accommodate the both. Important buttons show up where the time is in the left and the cell signal, wifi, and battery symbol on the right. Its impossible to press these buttons. I have to force quit the app if you go into edit the individual effects and majority of the time the write button doesn’t respond. I am going to probably end up returning them because the app is impossible to use. Show more
