Trying every possible way to connect to my new OontZ speakers with this app and it is so hit or miss it’s ridiculous. I have 4 of the OontZ Angle 3 Pro speakers now and the app just sits there and searches for the speakers that are literally 3 feet from my phone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times and not even the Home Screen will appear. Please help..!! Show more

Have an Oontz Angle 3 ULTRA. App won’t recognize the speaker. Tried many different things , even turned off my VPN. Selected “Support” on the drop down menu…and you can’t get support UNLESS it recognizes the speaker. Ummmm? Yea, like the speaker, app is worthless to me. Remove. Show more

Every time I power on my phone and go to the app it won’t work. I have to delete it from the Home Screen and go to the App Store and reinstall it every time. Why can’t they fix this issue. Show more

This app was taking forever for me to figure out how to work it was not cooperating with my Alexa and when it did, the connection cut off immediately. This product is not trustworthy and is a piece of junk. It only worked for about 2 seconds then the so called “Bluetooth” cut off. For all the people who put a 5 star review were just lucky and had a actual speaker, Not some joke. Show more

The app doesn’t always open to adjust settings but as long as both speakers connect I’m ok but would like to be able to use the features on the app

These speakers had the potential to be one of my favorite waterproof linkable speakers, but the software just doesn’t work. Period. I don’t remember the last time I’ve been able to successfully tether the speakers to each other, which was entirely the point of purchasing them. The individual sound quality is great, but not spacious enough to do anything other than a bathroom or small bedroom any justice. Show more

I didn’t want to enable Alexa. I chose no. I was rewarded with a white screen and nothing else. I might have been surprised if you hadn’t published the app with “cancel” spelled wrong in a main dialog. ?‍♂️ drop a major version with some real effort and I’ll try again. I like the idea of buying another speaker or 5 if the app improves. Show more

The speakers are very good and solid but I can spend hours trying to get them to link to each other for surround mode. The software does nothing to help. The concept and sound is good but the software or firmware to link stinks!! Show more

Downloaded app to adjust equalizer and tell me to select speak but all that dose is try and sync with my Amazon account that fails to load, not to mention I don’t want it to use Alexa I just want to use the equalizer Show more

I suspect that a lot of these terrible reviews are for an older version. The app works perfectly for me and adds a lot of functionality to my Angle 3 Pros. I’m glad I gave it a chance. Show more

I have to delete and reinstall the app every time I try to open it. A total waste of time trying to use. it is much easier to connect the speakers (which are excellent) without using this app. Show more

Recognized my speakers immediately, synced automatically and works perfectly. Good to go.

I have several Oontz Bluetooth speakers, and I like them. But I wanted an Alexa enabled speaker I could use in the shower, so I bought another Oontz speaker (Oontz Angle 3) which claimed to have that ability. Since Amazon does not make a water resistant Echo, but also doesn’t want people to buy Alexa compatible products by other manufacturers, the choice is very limited. I’m guessing that also explains why the interface with this Oontz speaker is so bad. I have the Alexa app on my iPhone, of course, but the Oontz speaker does not work with the Alexa app. You have to download this app that I’m reviewing here for the Alexa functionality. The speaker does not respond to the Alexa app by Amazon. This app is severely lacking. There are several control options in the top-level menu, but when you select one, the app asks you to choose a speaker, and when you choose the speaker, the option you chose disappears. There is no way to access the action you wanted and, the app does not remember. The speaker does not respond to the “Alexa” prompt on its own. You have to press a button on the speaker every time you want to talk to Alexa. There are circumstances, which I do not yet understand, under which the speaker does not respond even if you press the button. It is telling that this app has not had a recent update, and the shower speaker I purchased has also not been updated recently. The speaker has a micro-USB charging port, while the other Oontz speakers I’ve purchased recently have the more up-to-date USB-C port. Probably both will be discontinued soon. Show more

The fact that the entire help section is composed of just about every question you may have, you’ll feel relieved to see your issue listed, however… I think if they wanted you to see the answers they would make the hyperlink to the answers work. The help section literally only lets you see all the problems you may have. They do not give you access to the resolve. Clearly there is no QC with this company. How can you possibly miss making EVERY SINGLE answer impossible to see in the apps own HELP section?? They figured out a way. Now I’ve done the firmware update on my brand new speakers and they don’t work and there is not a functioning FAQ or help section. Shame on this company for not making the very basic, easiest functionality of an app, actually function. Speakers are great, the app developer needs work… Show more

It won’t let me use the app without Alexa? It prompts me to set up Alexa, I decline and the screen just goes white.

I’m shocked by the incompetence of these engineers. Like how do you make an app that not only looks like a high school project, also doesn’t to the one thing is supposed to do. I could understand if it didn’t connect sometimes. Some bugs are hard to catch. But this connect 0% of the time. Like where they like “hey does this app connect…. No, we’ll we tried ?‍♂️” . OontZ should hire at least one person that isn’t a college intern. Show more

Speaker pairs with iPad. Music plays fine. Open app to use EQ and it says it can’t find a speaker. !! I’m listening to music on the speaker using BT. How can it not find the speaker i’m listening to? Garbage app. BTW, the speaker itself sounds good, not great. Look and LISTEN to others before you buy. Bass is kinda weak. Show more

I have 2-OontZ Ultra 3 speakers. I first connected through my Bluetooth. Then I discovered the app. I was hesitant because of the poor reviews. Now working perfectly. Dual stereo, split stereo, surround sound, & equalizer all working flawlessly. I especially like that the volume of each speaker can be controlled individually as we use in a camping environment where one area wants different volumes. Show more
