Audius is fascinating. It’s the only place I’ve heard a true spectrum of the most brilliant and quality music. If you are interested in the underground’s finest, or unknown legends this app has it. While the mobile app has its shortcomings, the subculture on their social media is engaging. More and more features develop over the years, so I’m withholding a star until then ;) Show more

I really only use this app to listen to 2 artists who decided to delete their discography on SoundCloud and transfer it onto this app I’m not really a fan of the blockchain kinda stuff, nor am I very knowledgeable with it. I also notice that the app feels really slow at times. But solid app. It allows me to the 2 artists that i mentioned. Other than those 2 artists, I don’t really care about anything else. Show more

I just downloaded Audius and I can’t get past sign up. Already put up my email for sign up but pressing the signup button it doesn’t do anything.

I really wanted an alternative to Soundcloud, and allowing users to upload and stream high quality audio for free initially seemed very promising. However, the platform has two main issues: 1. Fighting the network effect, basically only saw 1-2 artists I knew on there, and it hasn't gotten any better since its brief popularity spike like a year or so ago. 2. More relevant to Audius specifically, using blockchain for its monetization is awful. Artists want to be paid in actual currency, not blockchain funny money that they have to pray someone will buy off of them for regular cash. Paying people only when they have a top song is also ridiculous, as in a theoretical scenario where Audius took off, only a tiny percentage of artists would get paid. The bigger Audius gets, the worse for small artists it gets, which seems completely opposite to the way they like to market themselves. In terms of the app itself, its fine I guess, always felt a bit more clunky than Spotify and Soundcloud but got the job done. I could overcome this if the above two issues didn't kill any interest I had in the project. Gonna have to stick to Soundcloud and Bandcamp for now I guess, not ideal but at least they aren't Cryptocurrency grifts. Show more

I’ve been using your app for a while not. Maybe a year plus IDK, anywho I never have been able to get my coins. It’ll say accept but nothing happens then it’ll reset the ne t time I login. I’ve tried to get help on Twitter but just get those phishing bot replies. I wanted to use it more often but the coins aren’t working so I’ve been using another app where it does work. I have never even heard of this app until today and yet somehow I have two email addresses that supposedly have both been registered on it already both of which I can’t get the right password for and their password recovery is pathetic. Tells me to search for the email they sent when I signed up (I’ve never signed up) and it’s obviously not there Show more

I love how this is set up with a rewards system and user engagement. If it takes off, will be a great avenue for independent artists and musicians.

To sum up: People are not discovering your music, so you have to invite your fans over… You can’t claim your Audius tokens which is basically the point of the whole thing. It’s like SoundCloud but way worse… And I either like SoundCloud, so that’s really nasty kinda bad… The only thing they did well is getting Mike Shinoda on the platform, but he don’t have to struggle with it… Also to mention, I used his referral link and I either got the Audius from that… Show more

I love the promise of rewarding creators with decentralized currency in $AUDIO, and compensating artists fairly for their work. This concept has a lot of potential. However, the iOS app and the web app are both very slow and buggy. I completed numerous “challenges” to receive $AUDIO and it said I had received some but my connected wallet shows nothing. Then when I log in later in the day it resets to zero - so I am confused. Did I even receive it? The app is also slow at points and struggles to load playlists and tracks. From a design perspective, it is nice but not very refined or slick. The buttons are too big and I don’t like emojis incorporated into everything. This app has huge potential - but needs to solve for some glitches first and needs better reach and content to really take on SoundCloud and other apps. Show more

I am trying to signup and it says my email is already in use, and I didn’t open an account before. If you try to recover the password, the process is only possible with an Audius password recovery initial email sent by the platform. Show more

For starters, Audius is amazing -- the sound is audibly, no pun intended, smoother and clearer than on my Spotify subscriptio: Omg, especially when I put on my Apple AirPod Max! Also -- Audius is relatively new and built on the Ethereum Blockchain ---- this will lead to artists being paid the entire amount of the streaming revenue via ads or whatever This is true INNOVATION, not just streaming wars offering a dollar off one another or a special sign up bonus. Check out Audius on CoinMarketCap or CoinGecko (both websites and apps) - you will get links there to all their info like their website, white paper, GitHub, community support etc I bought some $AUDIO yesterday on Kucoin and I'm smiling ear to ear and listening to some dope Skrillex and Deadmeau5 while earning !
