    Makes you a musician
This is invaluable. Figuring out chord possibilities takes a lot of learning, and there is always more than you could ever think of available. This helps put it all immediately at your fingertips. You just take the chords and run, or do your analysis afterwards to see why it works and why you do/don’t like it. Show more

App lacking for people with creative thought
Doesn’t allow me to pick chords like them around the mixolydian mode or chords that are outside the normal scale so in that sense the app isn’t that good

    Need improvements
    Not good enough

Awesome! Wish I could listen with AirPods.
Great app! The only reason I took a star off is because it disconnects from Bluetooth and so the person next to me hears me playing the chords. Wished it didn’t disconnect from Bluetooth. Show more

    Very Nice
Helpful with making professions. Suggestions are essential. Wish you could also preview the chords when replacing them as you can sequencing them. Great app, nonetheless.

    Lack of Bluetooth headphone support
Great app and I really do like it but it doesn’t seem to be able to work with Bluetooth headphones, it will always default to playing out of the speaker or headphone jack which makes it difficult to use on the go Show more

    Pretty good
It’s alright. It isn’t going to provide you with dynamic structure. The playback functionality is pretty rough and rigid, unpleasant to listen to. However this app can help you determine where your progression could go next and you can’t beat free. Show more

Great song writing and music theory tool
This is an impressive app. I’ve just started to play around with its functionality but the fact that it can recommend next chords based on what I’ve already played will be a huge help next time I’m stuck with a song im writing. Show more

    Easy and streamlined
Great app! I just wish you could export to midi and it would be perfect

    Good app
Would be perfect if tempo could be set in BPM and if progressions could be exported as .midi

    Great App (where’s the MIDI?)
This is a great app for inspiring your next great song. Easy to use, and goes very in depth with its native chord library. In my opinion, outside of these issues, this is the best chord app in the App Store, and I’ve got a lot of them. It also works hand in hand with Suggester, another fine app for composers. NextChord does feel a bit restricted due to its inability to export your new chord progression in MIDI, but I bet the wonderfully empathetic developers are working on that, as well as an iPad version, right? Good job! Show more

    Great Chord App!
This is a great app! Love how it simplifies chord progressions based on popular progressions. Would love to see a newer version with genre. Wonder what their source data is. Recommending this to my music friends. Show more

    Guitar/Keyboard Players Dream
This app is going to become many guitar players & keyboard players go to app for creating chord progressions and learning chords. Great potential here and it’s just recently hit the App Store. Simple to use! Thank you Developers!!! Show more

BEST MOST USEFUL APP FOR SONGWRITERS AND MUSICIANS EVER.
February 29, 2020. This app is literal perfection. You would not believe how useful it is. I used to waste hours AND HOURS trying to come up with the right chord progression. I’ve tried every free songwriter/chord progression type app there is in store, and none come close to this one’s perfect combo of functionality and simplicity. NextChord is simply wonderful and the app definitely deserves more attention. Show more

    Blown away.
For some one who constantly has music trapped in their head but can’t always figure out what direction it should go after the initial progression is figured out, this app has smashed down that wall I am used to running into. Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you for making this app, and making it free on top of that. Much love!! Show more

What a great app for capturing chords ideas when on the road!
I just downloaded the app and I love it! A really great way to break out of ruts and find interesting new chord options. Moving forward, I’d love to see copy and paste support so I don’t have to go through the “...” to find the same chord I already used, an ability to re-order chords already in the sequence and maybe a “do I feel lucky” mode where it will just throw a random chord into the sequence. Great songwriting app
What an excellent app. Clean and uncluttered interface. And the choice of guitar types and export feature is very welcome. This should be in any songwriter’s toolbox.

    Really awesome app for musicians.
There’s a lot of artists who could benefit from using this app. Chords can be daunting to play or learn, but this helps make them simple. I would love a piano instrument but the guitar’s sound wonderful as a place holder. The app is very smooth & I love the icon for it. I do know my way around a piano, however, I’m no Beethoven yet, so I can’t exactly fact check every chord possibility, or variation. But I do like all the options they provide. Found this off reddit btw, so shoutout to u/nextchord Show more

Needs iPad support & more features
It’s a good start, but definitely needs more functionality. Such as a piano sound, numbered tempo input, midi output, and native iPad support.

    Perfect for any musical background
This is an amazing app, and it has tremendously helped me, with many years of musical experience, and my friend who started learning guitar last week. My only suggestion is to maybe add a piano keyboard. It might be useful for pianists and composers. Show more
