    Couldn’t hear any music.
I found this idea very interesting and wanted to experience it. After downloading and opening it I kept waiting for music which never happened. It appeared that something was playing but there wasn’t any sound. Tried to find settings where I might turn on/off or adjust sound. Nothing. Tried several of the book entires and there still wasn’t any sound. I removed the app. Show more

No sound and also I update my phone so no it’s not that
No mater how hard I tried, turned my phone all the way up, uninstall/ reinstall tried multiple books none of them worked so I just gave up I didn’t even read any of it is the main reason I wanted it was to try something new. Update then the developer says to update my phone from 9 lol who is still running 9 we are in the last part of the 14 updates. So no it’s not because I don’t update my phone that it doesn’t work. And if you are still running 9 on iOS you might want to up date when you don’t need to use your phone for awhile because updating from 9 to14 is going to take along time Show more

    Review: TooFar Media
TooFar Media is a platform that brings together Rich Shapero’s entire canon, combines it with a spectacular multimedia experience of art, music, video, and animation, and puts it all in the palm of your hand. It can truly be called a movable feast. The download from the app store was smooth, the navigation was intuitive, the animation and video engaging, and the artwork and music selections extraordinary. This app is packed with features any fan of Rich Shapero, or new reader for that matter, would appreciate: Q & A’s with Rich Shapero about each of the eight novels in the app, information about the animation, music, and its creators, bonus tracks, and videos; literally hours of entertainment at your fingertips. I hope to one day find the time to discover it all! You can access all eight Shapero novels on the go, escape into Rich’s intricate worlds, characters, and plots, immerse yourself in outstanding artwork from a variety of talented artists, well-executed animations/videos, and great music. After downloading and opening the application, Rich’s novel Dissolve is the first to choose. An animation of floating orbs, animated from original photography by Cameron Nelson of a rare, beautiful rock leads us to the beginning of the novel. Clicking the three horizontal line icon on the top right of the screen brings down a menu that contains a navigation screen unlocking a panoply of material: chapter navigation, a Q & A with the author about the book, the artwork and animation, and the music of Lhasa de Sela. Click Home and enter Rich’s next novel and accompanying insights, music and art. When you step into Rich Shapero’s world, you step into a world of more than words and into a realm of thoughts and ideas; multifaceted universes where Rich weaves substantive tales steeped in philosophical insights. TooFar Media is a great app, countless hours of entertainment, easy to use, and immensely enjoyable. Check it out. Show more

Discovered a great new Library of Fiction Writing
I downloaded this app because it sounded intriguing to have an author’s library of fiction in one place. I was interested enough by the first few paragraphs of Dissolve, and now I can’t put it down. I love how there’s other media to discover too, adding visual and audio to the written word of the story. Very cool! Show more

Amazing story and very cool app
What a wonderful way to expand the imagination through words and enhanced with video and further information – all right the same app! I read the Balcony of Fog and found the story to be amazing – especially as it was enhanced by videos and sounds to place you at the heart of the plot and help you to understand what the characters might be going through as well as feeling physically. This interactive way of telling the story was the first time I have ever experienced reading a book this way and it was very cool. The plot opens to darkness and fear and the poetic and delightfully descriptive writing keeps you immersed in the story by being both tender and hard – even violent at times – and never letting you go. This is a story about love, fear, hope, jealousy, and rage all taking place between three people on two planes and in two states of existence. The notion that one can steer his own ship and shape his own destiny is one that runs through the book as is the notion that with great emotion comes great power and great weakness. Our main character, Arden, learns about these conditions as he escapes the bleak existence he was born into with a beautiful and mysterious woman to go live as vapor and energy in the sky on a cloud. Estra, the mystery woman has secrets that Arden only learns about after he has left everything he knows behind and followed her into her previous realm of the clouds. These characters are so well developed that the reader can’t help but churn with emotion as each page is turned and another layer is revealed. A wonderful book and total experience in this story and app! Show more

    Really great storytelling
Balcony of Fog is a truly unique experience. There are several options for reading this book. You can buy the Kindle version, a hardcover version, or there are versions available in the iTunes App Store and the Google Play store. The versions on iTunes and Google Play are where the really interesting experience really shines. You are able to read the book from the downloaded app just like you would any other book. However, the book is augmented by custom music and videos that add to the story and make it a lot more interactive than the average reading experience. The apps work well are are well-designed. The straight-up reading experience is not as nice as a book or even the Kindle app on the phone. But it is a reasonable experience and the additional features more than make up for the slight inconvenience. The story itself is well-written with characters that are not just placeholders on a page. The plot, characters, and setting all work together to make for a really fun, dystopian read. The author manages to merge a dystopian setting with a love story in interesting ways. Overall, I think this is a book that anyone who loves fiction should pick up. The interactive elements make for an engrossing experience that adds a lot to the story. Show more

    A new reading experience
I recently read “Balcony of Fog” and it was one of the most interesting experiences I’ve ever had. The immersion you feel when reading is something I find hard to explain with words. The incredible music, the art style, and all of the new things this experience adds to traditional reading, creates what I can only define as cinematic literature. The story itself was already gripping and wonderfully told, but I can’t say enough about immersion you feel while reading. It’s something that needs to be experienced and I highly recommend everyone to do so! Show more
