No more writers block for me this is the app I've been longing for my whole life!!

I have both the iphone and the Mac app, this review as far as the version number goes, is refering to the Mac version; which on here (the app store) says it's 1.0.8 (released 8 months ago), but on my Macbook pro, it says 2.5.7 that's a big version difference. Some of the improvements it needs is the ability to select how many sylables you want the rhyme list to show, right now it just shows a list. You can't tell it to only show 2 syllable or 5 syllable etc words. It also doesn't have an option to keep the syllable count for each line on screen. You have to put the cursor on the line if you want to see it. It also doesn't have the option to show the number of words per line; which would come in handy if you like to have each of your lines a certain number of words and/ or syllables. Now, here is where I would have given only a one star review, if it had happened more than once (hope it doesn't) and the positives of the app didn't make up for it.....the two apps (Mac Os and iOs) don't sink very well, if at all. Yesterday (11/24/2022) I was working on lyrics for several hours, and a few times I would switch over to the phone app to see if it was, it didn't show up, so I would continue to work on the laptop, and I would use the save command feature, a few times while writing, I repeated this process at least 4 times. The final time that I went bak to writing on the computer, the app crashed on me, and when I signed back in, everything I had written was gone. (it achtally crashed a few other times, but it didn't lose my project). So, what good is the save command, if the app doesn't actually save anything anywhere. At least I haven't found it. I did send an email to support. Hopefully they will have good news, and my project isn't actually lost. Show more

I had this app on my phone for a while now, and was putting all my ideas down for the inevitable day that I would start recording and turning them into songs. Then, I switched phones. Much of my data and former apps had to be reloaded and also wanted to use the app on my computer. I just knew that my ideas were gone. To my delight, when I put in my login information ALL my song ideas came back...even the ones from two year ago! I now use the app on my phone and my computer and it seamlessly transfers the information! Oh, did I mention you're NEVER out of ideas for a rhyme??? This is a keeper!!! Show more

Awesome! Keeps you flowing

Generally does a great job of helping me check off I have noticed that this app doesnt pick up on some rhymes. I wish there were a way to manually highlight or inform the algorithm of a rhyme. I also wish I could create columns in order to write rhyme schemes, notes, outlines off to the sides and at the top. The themes do not remain once you exit the app. For example, you have to re-select dark mode each time you open the app if that is your preferred theme. Lastly, I purchased the app for mac, but my purchase doesnt translate to the iphone app, therefore all my folder organization is lost on the mobile version. TLDR- I wish the app had more visual layouts for organizing, planning, and prepping lyrics. I like the rhyme highlighting, but its abilities are limited. Some other clunky app elements that make it less user friendly. I will still be using this app, but I seriously hope for an update soon. Show more

I'm a long time user of the Masterwriter app and am starting my first big project without it, having moved to Apple Silicon, leaving all my 32-bit workarounds are officially dead. I've tried Rhyme Finder (yuck!) and online apps but find them all so frustrating. I figured ten bucks wasn't too much to lose if this failed, but I'm really thrilled. I love composing stanza by stanza in this app, then moving my lines back to my script (I write musicals). Show more

Update: Fixed my account and it Iooks like it's syncing properly. Been loving this on my phone and I'm very happy to see everything working :) Original: like to start an idea on my mac and then edit from my phone. There is a sync feature, but I haven't quite figured out how to make it work how I want it. Part of the issue might be that I signed on using apple instead of an email, but I can't connect to the account on my mac (no email/password to put in). Wrote a poem this morning and then tried to sync to my phone and I lost everything I've started on the mac so Idk, sync with caution I guess Show more

I love this app for generating and organizing ideas. The UI is clean and simple. Dark theme is a huge plus.

once the app is open it works but you have to manually adjust the theme back to your preference and if anything is on your mind that you wish to get out quick go ahead and write it down as this app wont open in time. 2021 macbook air. use my phone if i need to do anything and have switched to using the notes app as rhymers block seems to have served its purpose through my phone years ago and this app was just a supporting purchase however it wont be blindly purchased again. I wrote a long one and went to edit on my iphone, and the sync deleted what I typed on my computer. I paid for everything but that's unacceptable after the first time. No second chances. I went to lyricstudio and the autosave feature along with everything else is way better. Show more

Rhymer's Block does just what it’s supposed to do. Reliable, robust, it works well both on macOS and iOS - and synchs as is claimed. It’s very reasonably-priced. The developer is responsive to requests for help and updating with fixes where necessary. Recommended. Show more

Updated version of RB - on M1macmini anytime I try to highlight text and drag it elsewhere the app crashes. I feel like this is a basic function of any text editor and this has existed across multiple versions. I'm also pretty sure I paid for something at a point in time where I wouldnt have ads anymore on mobile but i still get them?? Show more

Wonderful app but the OSX Version is extremely buggy and I feel regretful spending the $10 on it, with it's constant crashing and lagginess. Would give it a 5 star rating if the desktop version worked Show more

great app but crashes every time

I want to like this, but it's super slow. Every time you type a word the app freezes while it looks for rhymes. Eventually it crashed and lost over half my work. Unlike every other modern app it appears not to auto save. You have to manually hit the save button. The interface is good and the rhyme suggestions are excellent, but I just lost several hours and I can't remember half of what I wrote. Show more

This App is an amazing tool for Songwriters, producers & enthusiests. the structure is well thought out. its availbablity across IOS and MacOS devices is an added enjoyable feature. would highly recommend from beginner to expert Show more
