    Very good app
I love the app a lot. The only issue is that it doesn’t work with iOS 16 anymore. Whenever I use it, or whenever I put it with AUV3 it doesn’t work. Please fix this. Show more

    “Limited Edition” (J/k!)
Pretending this is a $99 app on sale for $2.99 after it was supposedly limited edition and “sold out” - it’s too much. Laughable amateur hour marketing.

    Crashing after iOS 14 update
Opens normally when it’s standalone but crashes as AU within other apps.

    Less is Everything
When these guys make an app they do it very well . I remember downloading the first AudioKit app before they updated it and I already liked it mainly because the beautiful reverb effect they have is unlike any I’ve heard anywhere else. That was the key to making even the blandest sound , full and vibrant, they only got better and more creative from there....so I know that this retro piano sounds awesome now ,....just wait till they work on it and spruce it up , I play around with all the big name items in the synth realm and AudioKit came in short time and surpassed all of them. Thanks for creating great toys for us grown azzz adults. Show more

    One more day to complain
As another reviewer said, if you want a great acoustic piano sound for free, open GB. It’s all there. You can even add vinyl scratches if you’d like. But that’s not the point! This is a piano/synth mix. You control the mix & vinyl & the tone. It sounds great. I didn’t need this sound but now that I have it.... I find needs for it. Solid, modern r&b/hip hop piano/synth sample sound that been in vogue for many years. This is free. For those that must look a gift horse in the mouth, don’t use what little creative energy you have remaining to write bad reviews. Use it to find an app w/ a subscription so you can pay monthly to justify calling yourself a “musician”. For those that want to support devs that are doing what they can to provide rare, genuinely EQUITABLE OPPORTUNITIES for musicians to create with hi quality, low cost apps, unhindered by greed & economics, I hope you already got this because it will no longer be available by the time this posts. Unexpected Surprise... ?
I have purchased and downloaded a number of your apps before, and have found them ranging from interesting to mindblowing – in varying degrees. Synth One is a masterpiece IMO. I can see if people were expecting this to be more “standard piano sounds“ they might be a bit disappointed. For me, however, it was just the opposite! And although I would love to have a few minor additions – such as ‘attack-time’, and stretch/micro tunings (pretty pleeez! ??), within a few moments of playing with the controls, I made these wonderfully gritty/rich “hint of a piano” textures drenched in crunch, and reverb – that sound delicious in the bass registers. ? If there were a way to patch the sequencer and arpeggiator or features from SynthOne into here... that would be the icing on the cake. As for those complaining “that it’s not up to par” – perhaps they were expecting a more standard electric and acoustic piano set?? This is F R E E. If you want all those standard piano sounds etc. why not just open GarageBand (which, sounds great, btw), or find one of the 30 or so electric and acoustic-piano “simulation” apps out there? Simply cut your losses (none!), delete the app, and move on to the next one. Life is too short to waste time on crappy reviews for apps one didn’t even pay for. Show more

    Great Sounds
Love the tones achievable on this app. Started playing on it as a stand-alone, got psyched to go record my idea in Garage Band, but no luck. It wont show up as an option in the audio unit extensions. I tried reinstalling the app and it still wont work. It shows up on my iPhone, but not on my iPad, and that’s what I use to record my music. Bummer. Any suggestions? Show more

    What’s happened?
So far, you have cranked out some amazing simulations; and now this? If it’s a joke, it’s decidedly not funny. How about a real Rhodes sim, complete with that grimy sound one only gets from using an old electric piano that’s been sitting in the studio since the 1960s? That would make my summer, truly… I’m really confused. Is this how you respond to negative comments? I’ll be brief. I wrote the original review because this release didn’t live up to your previous releases. I have been nothing short of astounded by synth one, d-1, and fm player are all literally breathtaking. Retro player is not, IMO. My response was relatively free of snarky comments; your response was not. Retro player needs work. It’s beyond belief that you would offer a racist comment in a review. Yes, comments that refer to a perceived mental deficiency is racist; we live in the 21st century. I’ll continue you try out, and in all probability use your creations; but you’ve lost all my respect. You’ll notice I’ve rereviewed player one. That as good as its going to get, barring an overhaul. Show more

    DAW Support?
This is a great app but I was disappointed to find I could not have it open in my DAW of choice, GarageBand. I was hoping this is just something on my end and not the app it self. I would love to use these samples in a DAW as they are excellent. If something is wrong on my end I would like to be contacted with some support! Thank you! Show more

    Sweet surprises, huge sounds.
I’m a novice keyboard player but a life long musician. Every app is full of quality presets, deep features and more than enough parameters to tweak into something unique. The limited edition apps are such a sweet surprise. I can’t wait to see what the next one is. Show more

    Found an issue
The presets won’t work in Nano studio. They all sounds the same. Anyone else have this happen?

Another useful plugin, but one bug
I’m really enjoying AudioKit's approach with these simple specialized synth plugins that have a distinctive sound and a small number of controls. This is another winner. The only trouble with this one is that if I use it in GarageBand, when I reopen the project the plugin reverts to the default patch. I’m sure that’ll be fixed in an update soon. Show more

    I like it but...
This seems like a work in progress... as if this is still in a beta form. I’ve experienced note drops while playing it with a midi controller.. I don’t believe it to be due to polyphony issues as I’m playing normal and not too aggressive nor with a foot pedal... Also the volume on the patches are way too loud and distorted. Every time you choose a new patch, the main volume goes to max with some of them ...but all of them are still too loud so you’re constantly messing with the volume after each selection.. annoying. Then comes the cracklings. i get the vinyl effect and I can dig that, but cpu crackles are distinct and you need to drive the buffer way up and still it happens. Overall the sound of it is what is great about it and I’m sure after a few updates, (if they realize this is important) it should be an amazing tool in your AU arsenal amd I’ll be back here to re visit and edit my review. Great Sounds for Piano Starters
Retro Piano invites exploration of piano in Summer 2020. I own keyboards and find this much more fun. Why? A keyboard reminds me I don’t know how to play piano. This app doesn’t care. It offers a wide range of producer-provided presets (Thanks!) and effects. Manual dexterity is not required. Drag around, tap, and/or hold keys to create patterns better known as music. Cheers from Orlando! Show more
