    An amazing resource
What a gift! …. Except that the autoscroll feature hides the neums that I’m supposed to be singing! I’m sure it’s complex to get things to line up on all the different screens, and I’m sure they’re working on a fix, but the app is frustrating to the point of being unusable for me on my iphone. I hope the makers are able to allocate more resources for the development of this incredible offering. Show more

    Devine office prayer book
I LOVE this app and have been using it everyday. I am a person that loves the feel of a book in my hand. Is it possible to purchase the copy of Devine office that the sisters use? Their chants do not line up with any of my devine office copies and I know it’s because the sisters are using a devine office made for monastic use. The problem that I’m having is I want the exact copy the sister’s use so I can go along. I will pay any price and buy from any source. Thank you! Show more

    Amazing Treasure of the Faith
This app is a huge gift to humanity! Whether you are learning to chant, wanting to incorporate it into a daily practice or stuck in a parish without chant this app gives you the opportunity to practice with beautiful recordings perfectly lined up with the liturgical year. Since it’s still a work in progress there are some features that will get better with time. It will be fantastic when the search function works well. It would also be great if at some point in addition to searching you could look through an index alphabetical by function (hymn, introit, communion etc). There is the occasional issue with a psalm verse being a different melodically than the recording (example psalm tone written but melismatic line sung) and rarely a screen showing the next chant and stays there until the correct chant is sung. No complaints at all though, so happy to have this amazing resource! It’s a must for all Catholics. Show more

Svelte but looking forward to continued development
I like this app and the concept is amazing. It’s very lovely to see the translations light up as the text is sung. I have a few quibbles that I hope get worked out in the course of time: 1-often the chant notation doesn’t sync up correctly. Often it only appears on screen after the text has been sung because it scrolls too slowly. If you’d like to sing along sometimes you’re plum out of luck. 2-the image of the chant scores appears to be a scrolling image file, rather than clean vector graphics (gabc code, for instance) which is annoying. 3-you can’t override auto scroll; since the speed isn’t correct this is frustrating. (And I wish there was an option to have the image flash rather than scroll; constant scrolling can be very taxing after a while. People with car sickness may struggle.) I imagine many of these things will be worked out eventually. Regardless, it’s a great resource as is and it’s an excellent way to peer in on the monastic life and get a sense of their prayer. It’s also a great way to absorb the lived rhythm and cadences of chant by people who do it every day. Show more

Great source for the liturgy of the hours
However, lately I can hear this music in the background which I find distracting from prayer, other than that beautiful experience, it’s like being at the abbey praying along with the nuns. Show more

    Amazing
I was looking forward to the release of this app since I first read about it in the New York Times. It is a unique and profound insight into the music, prayers, and traditions of a Catholic faith that has vanished from most of our lives. The work and dedication present here — the creators of the app and above all the devotion of the nuns who have let us into their faith and art — is transforming and beautiful. Show more

    Titanic achievement
Even as a Benedictine monk in the U.S., it is difficult for me imagine the great amount of effort that went into making the treasury of Gregorian chant available so freely through this app. This app doesn’t merely offer a sampling (like a single CD) of chant, it is the accompaniment to a liturgical way of life. Excellent project
This is an excellent project, idea and app. It’s so exciting to be able to sing the Divine Office correctly. The only thing I’m disappointed about is that the psalms so far have not matched up with any of my breviaries, not the pre-1962 or the new Liturgy of the Hours. The app matches up a bit better with the pre-1962 as far as antiphons. I’m a bit confused as to where they’re basing the psalms off of. But I know this app can only get better! Show more
