Love the station!

My only complaint is the app takes forever to launch

I get horrible radio reception in the south Sound and this app keeps me connected with tons of awesome dance music!!!

The app is as awesome as the C89.5 itself!

I love being able to listen to C89.5 even all the way over on the east side of the state.

I found C89.5 way back in 7th grade in 95. Once I moved away from Seattle, I remember feeling like I lost a friend as the radio signal faded. Thanks to the internet, I was able to stream the station again many years later. This app is a wonderful, stable connection to a radio station I’ve adored for so long. Have used the app on my iPhone for a couple years and now finally on my desktop Mac. Losing iTunes support for internet radio is now no big deal.

Like the website's streaming on demand, shows play by the hour, not by the show. If you play a show starting with the first hour, it will continue to the next hour with a huge loading pause. If you play a show for one day, it will not autoplay to the next show's day. If you pause with the app open, it will restart what's playing fom the beginning or restart the entire app. If you pause in lock screen, you can usually pause and play without issue. Sometimes you can see last week's show, sometimes you can't. Shows are frequently unavailable entirely. Some weeks, almost all the shows are unavailable, so you can't use the app at all. You can't save shows or hours. And they're gone once the following week's show happens anyway. Shows that run over midnight don't have the first part of the show. For example, the Vortex Saturday 9pm-midnight is not available, but Sunday midnight-2am is available. Worst of all, it uses a suspicious and crazy amount of data, up to a gigabyte for every 5-6 hours, so be careful with your data. There is no option to reduce the size of what's being streamed, and it's unclear if the high data usage is audio quality or something else. There are many more issues, but I think that's enough for you to make a reasonably educated guess if it's worth the security risks and UX challenges. I donated a lot of money when they said they were building it. It was released in 2020 and is not over 4 years old. Being in Seattle, I thought they'd have experienced folks build it. But if you have any experience with mobile app development, it's clear they cut many corners. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. But I should have known better given the website's challenges. Even the website's live streaming doesn't have an SSL certificate. Still, this app seems better than streaming through the website because it plays when you do other stuff on your phone and doesn't randomly stop playing after 30 seconds. Show more

Do wish it would autoplay the next hour segment of shows automatically, otherwise perfect!

LOVE C89.5 AND ALL THEY DO!! The music is amazing especially at night!!

I was packing up my apartment and just wanted to dance. I had a song stuck in my head from when I was in the car, so I downloaded the app and started listening right away. Easy to use, great streaming, and I love hearing my favorite local stations. Even when I’m not driving!! Show more

Grew up in the 80’s listening. Love that I can listen to C89 in North Carolina. And now with the app can listen to my favorite programs.
