For years I've been looking for an effective, yet easy to understand, app that would let me tag music I've either transferred from my own sources or otherwise acquired; i.e., NOT from Apple Music. And MpeTag is THE ONE! I've tried the infamous SongKong (too many features; interface not for the faint of heart) and MusicMaster (not enough features; another confusing interface) and even some scripts from the amazing Doug Adams (I use many of his scripts and apps) and none of them hit the spot. Mp3Tag has everything I need, and nothing I don't, with an interface that's so easy to understand I didn't have to read anything first before trying it. The cherry on top? It's a universal app so it runs fast and clean on my Apple Silicon-based Mac Studio. Nicely done, Florian! Show more

for years I was using the windows version for free but recently I found this app and Im ready! all set instaled and no regrets paying for the app. You will get all tags easy to set. and in Mac is working like magic. I used mp3tag for many years as a Windows user, and I always loved it. I tried several free tag utilities when I switched to Mac, but none worked nearly as well as mp3tag. For me, it was worth every penny of the purchase price. Show more

When trying to adjust album art, this app severely screws my FLAC files - making them unreadable by any other app!!!!!!

For those who have massive music libraries and a lot of music that isn't available streaming wise this tool is indispensable!

Idk what I'd do w/o this app! I've tried several tagging apps/software, and this is by far the best. It's easy to use and it works GREAT. But this app does exactly what I need it to do. I love being able to standardize my music and audiobooks library so that they all look the same, and this allows me to do that easily. Fantastic app. Does exactly what I need when it comes to renaming files. Would really appreciate iCloud support to save MP3Tag settings. I move around from computer to computer and it's a real pain point to have to setup everything backup again. Still 5 stars though. Show more

I have used Mp3tag on Windows and so I had no choice but to also get it on macOS. This app is absolutely worth it. Mp3tag is so easy to use and I'm glad it auto-saves my tags without asking if I want to save. I would recommend this app to anyone serious about editing their tunes. As a DJ I need all my AIFF files properly tagged and this does the job! Show more

I've been using this utility on windows and mac for a while and the dev keeps up with it wonderfully. It's simple, straight forward, does the job. It can choke a bit when doing multiple items and tagging ebooks at times is odd but nothing critical that makes me want to use another app. Show more

I have a very large music collection, and consistent tagging is important to me. There are other apps that will let you work with the metadata, but none of them are as powerful and easy to use as Mp3tag. Back before the macOS version was released, I kept a crappy old PC laptop around solely for Mp3tag, and would go through a complicated and annoying process of transferring files to a thumb drive, editing the metadata on the PC, then moving them back to permanent storage. No more. The release of the macOS version has greatly streamlined my workflow. Show more

This has been such a quality utility for such a long time. I remember discovering Mp3tag ages ago when it was only available for Windows. There was a makeshift unofficial version for Mac at some point too, which was pretty good, but then the official Mac version came about not long ago and it's just great. This is a tool that every audiophile should have. There's just nothing like having 100% control over your audio files, richness in the tags and metadata and album covers, and integration / import ability from Discogs makes this a powerhouse application, yet so light and simple too. Florian is an excellent developer and belongs in some hall of fame for digital music all-stars / archival pioneers / software engineering extraordinaires. I've used this for as long as it's been around - feels like at least 10 years? - started using it back on Windows long before he did a mac version. This is one of the cleanest and easiest to use tag editors I've ever used, and there's loads of power hidden in the various action and quick action menus. You can't go wrong with this one. Show more

This app has been the backbone (for years on PC, now I solely use it on Mac) for eons. No other app can handle massive libraries and and tasks like Mp3tag can... if you're meticulous about your library and want everything uniform and tidy, this is the only app you'll ever need, doing these sorts of things in the Apple Music app just pales in comparison... I have used Mp3tag for Mac since its beta versions. I find it feature rich while easy to use. Florian, the developer, is supportive and responds fast. All in all, Mp3tag is a well rounded tool and a great support for any media collection, large and small. Show more

I have valued this program from as far back as my pre-mac days. It's a great program that is as simple, or as detailed, as one could need.

I'd been using Roon for a few years. When I cancelled it, I found key metadata for over 500 albums was gone. As a result about 7,000 tracks were incorrectly listed as separate albums, making them unplayable and impossible to navigate. Finding Mp3tag was such a relief. This software is very well thought out, well documented and well supported. Thank you Florian Heidenreich for bringing back my lost music. Highly recommended. Show more
