2022-Dec: I bought the Onkyo TX-NR6050 because of a couple features (Bluetooth transmit to AirPods, for one) and I expected the app to be just as good, if not better, than the iControlAV5 app for my Pioneer receiver, since the latter app is 7+ years old. Nope. This app has only been extremely basic functionality and because there’s no Shortcut support, I can’t even cobble together my own workarounds. I’ll be staying away from this developer and Onkyo in the future… Show more

Not sure what to expect here. App is quick and responsive with plenty of options, including the ability to replace the remote. Could it be better, look better, be more customizable, sure. Show more

I used to not really like the app, but the functionality is much, much better in the latest version (v3). It’s much easier to set zones and select functions, change volume, turn off/on in this version. They seemed to have fixed a lot of bugs too. Show more

Always get an error. Mismatch. Such a simple thing… there’s no mismatch. This company should pay me for time wasted.

can't change the audio setting via the app like in older versions.

I own an Onkyo TX-NR686. The app can’t find it.

I have hardly ever had issues with this app and works very well for what I use it for. I do wish the sleep timer info could be added back to the 2 zone device screen as it was in previous version of app. It’s not the most efficient way to have to back into main device screen and then sleep mode to find out much time is left until sleep. I would like to just be able to look at secondary zone to find sleep time Show more

The new update (3.0.1+514) is a big improvement on the user interface and ease of use. Thanks Onkyo for the continuing support

Opened my app and it was completely reconfigured.. took sometime to figure out the controls, after reading the reviews I could figure out how to use the controls. Not user friendly at first.. Show more

App did exactly what I wanted the first time I used it: controlled volume and settings/source in Main and Zone2. The negative reviews must be from an older version.

It works just fine for my TX-NR6100. Not sure how others run into problems but it’s so convenient and working well for me that I have stopped using the remote that came with the receiver. Show more

The features are fine. The quality of the app is terrible

I was happy with the old version. Recent update is clunky and not intuitive. I use the app on my phone to quickly and easily switch inputs from game to pc to stream box. That functionality seems to have vanished or is in a menu I can not locate. Show more

New Update - forget using Zone 2 or Pandora, or even communicating correctly with the receiver. I was SO excited to use this receiver after my home renovations and finally streamline my audio/video and remotely control the music in my kitchen. For a short while, I could (sort of) control it. After the update - not a chance… please Onkyo, make a working version? Show more

The latest update to this app is a lot stable than previous version.

After many years, the app has been updated and works great.

Does not stay connected, randomly does not function. More frustrating than standing in front of the receiver and manually turning dials or pushing buttons.

This app was always somewhat flakey, but the new version is broken. Constant communication errors with my 1100 series receiver. When it does connect, the Pandora menu doesn’t come up to select the channel. Show more

This app has not worked for the longest time. Now finally, after the newest update I can use it again. I love it now. Thank you!
