I listen to MPR too much, but I hate this app because now it stops playing on the hour or when there is a new segment at a half hour point. Please fix that!! Show more

The only reason this is not a 5-star review is because perfection is so final, but it is close. I listen to it mainly in my browser, but I felt compelled to leave a smashing review. My strong favorite! The cast and the music are the best! Show more

This app crashes about every ten minutes on average. My wife and I have different iphone models and it happens to both of us. Spending the winter in California, the app offers us a daily connection to Minnesota. Whatever the December 1 change was, it broke this app badly Show more

I run this app every day, almost all day. I have done that for probably 5 years. Today I had to delete and reinstall! It's always been a bit unstable but WOW. I decided to try the guitar stream, which clearly doesn't work or doesn't exist but is there as a choice. Not only did the app shut down immediately, I couldn't re-open it. Finally rebooted my device (iPad) and tried to open, but it refused to open! Bizarre behavior. DO NOT TRY THE GUITAR STREAM. I had to delete and reinstall the app. Ugh. Love the station, love the presenters, not the app although it works most of the time, just not well. p.s. I should add that I have an Android phone and the app works fine on it... could be iOS issues? Apple quality control has gone in the basement, so... Show more

It used to be that the app would play in the background, so I could read the newspaper or review recipes while listening. Now the station fades out if I click on another app. Totally useless. Show more

Please use some of my sustaining member money to fix this app. It’s the worst app on my phone and I regularly have to delete and reinstall it to get it to work. I love and depend on Public Radio but this app is absolutely maddening. Show more

In the past when I heard a piece on Classical MPR that I didn’t recognize, I’d open the mobile app to look at the playlist, which would show recent titles and the composers’ names - except during one of the syndicated programs, like Performance Today. Now it doesn’t even show the composer, and often it’s just wrong. Either fix this app and make it useful, or give it up. Show more

I mean, if I hit the button for app support and it goes to an error page we got problems… Long time app listener. First time complainer. Since last Aug 2022 update, the service cuts out every 20 seconds or so. Cool. Typical IT response will to blame my isp or to tell me to “reset my router.” Or update my iOS. Or some other crap that’s about me and not about you. Nope. Done all that. This is ONLY an MPR problem. Started happening the day you updated. Same ux on 5G or Wi-Fi. Cmon. Respond to some of these comments. Fix this stuff. We support you. We pay. We listen. Try and support back. Show more

Seems like I’m not the only one! I listen to The Current every day! It is the background music to my life and I’m lost w/o it. What has happened with the app? I can’t get the music stream from the app anymore and have to go to the internet. Very inconsistent!! Show more

But I’ve had it for months now, and it won’t ever open. Even after restarting the app and phone, I never get past the title screen.

I’ve been an MPR member for decades and am EXTREMELY frustrated about the inconsistencies of their streaming platform/service. It’s the only news I listen to. The livestream feed drops multiple times a day without fail—up to 10 or more. It’s simply unbelievable that MPR doesn’t have a top of the line streaming service to match the quality of its news and reporting. This has been a problem for a long time. Why hasn’t MPR’s powers that be addressed this issue? Show more

#2: C’mon MPR! Will you please improve your terrible app! I constantly have to unload it and reload it almost every time I want to play it. I would listen a lot more if this app worked better. Earlier review: This app is crap. I love to listen to MPR but the app constantly stops working. It seems like if I delete and reload it will work again. For a while. C’mon MPR! You can do a lot better than this. 3rd review: I guess you don’t care to keep listeners who listen to your news channel on the app. I used to listen religiously, but this crappy app is going to end my years of tuning to MPR. I CONSTANTLY have to delete and reload this app! You’re not some rinky-dink little neighborhood station-you should be able to provide a decent app! Show more

Often will not open and needs to reloaded.

App cuts off and restarts frequently, making it impossible to have a good listening experience. At least it’s turned me toward podcasts, so thanks? Update: Very few streaming issues now. I use the app frequently. Could live without the two sponsorship messages (commercials) upon starting the app, though. Show more

App just won’t load most of the time lately. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn’t fix it. Streaming off MPR’s website works, but then won’t play in background. NPR-one and WNYC apps always work. Days like today, when every few minutes the ap interrupts the stream to play an ad are why I’m not a member anymore. I send my membership money to Ken Rudin, since you stopped having him on and he doesn’t play ads every minute. Show more

MPR needs to have a stronger online presence. I get my morning news from my various Google devices. This app doesn't connect with any device other than Airplay.

This app used to have a feature that enabled setting an automatic shut off. It no longer has that. I like to set it when going to bed and listening to the news while falling asleep. Please restore this feature Show more

But it drops out and cuts off rather soon after streaming so what good is this as an app and service. Fix it.

The mobile app (iOS, iphone) opens but will be on a screen that has a Donate button (which works) but the side bar from left with all the stations remains blank and doesn’t appear eve if I reload it. Seems to happen after Ive had Wifi off then restart it. Show more

App was always glitchy, interrupting stream frequently with ads. Two days ago it just quit entirely. Do better for your members and listeners, MPR!
