    Wrong Language!
I've tried many times to make this app work as I enjoy the musical choice, but every time I open it the screen appears in Russian! I have no idea why this happens, as I live nowhere near a Russian-speaking area. After numerous inquireis to the company and to Apple it still gives me the same Russian language screen. Since I love the actual music - and I'm paying for a. subscription - my only alternative is to go to the CalmRadio website and login there. Show more

    Meh
I thought I could get Calm meditation on my laptop...nope, so I purchased this in addition to the calm meditation for iphone. Some of the sections only have two songs?? Um, I want to listen for hours but not the same two songs over and over. The player/screen itself is cramped and strange. But, that's an old, non tech saavy person talking too. :( Show more

    TWO payments for one app?
I don't understand why I pay $70 a year for the Calm app on my phone but cannot use the mac version without ads. Ridiculous.

    Good service - lousy App
It's unthinkable to me when such a simple type of App has faults in it's functionality. While it does it's job as a streaming app in delivery of the content, it really bothers me that, as a selling point, a major feature doesn't work - which is the backgrounds. Essentially when I use the app, I am forced to accept a simple black screen as the app plays, even though I have chosen a back ground. I have looked up in the support section the issue and the applicable documents talk about buttons and options that don't exist. It's like the support document is referencing another app all together.. So their "stunning backgrounds" just don't work. I'm not sure why this bothers me so much- but it does - or maybe that I am paying twice as much as XM Radio and they can't even get a simple feature to work. Ugh - lazy programming..... poor work ethic... Show more

    Happier now in Big Sur
After upgrading to macOS 11.2.3 Big Sur, this stand alone app is happier and allows me to come and go from other apps, while keeping the "Now Playing" dialogue present in the app screen. Thanks folks! Show more

    More App Store Crap
Why Apple lets apps like this copycat masquarading as the Calm app exist I will never understand. It makes no sense. All users would be better served knowing that there is no Calm app for macOS than spend 20 frustrating minutes trying to figure out why their Calm password doesn't work. How much money has accidentally been spent on this imposter? How much time? How much frustration? And for what? Do the right thing, Apple. Show more

Very limited works for some major composers
I decided to just choose Tchaikovsky as my first channel as I'm very familar with his music. I stopped listening to it because is seems to have a very limited range of his works (and is especially heavy on the Suites, which are not really favorite for this composer). So far, I've heard 4 of his 7 symphonies, but the one I hear the most is the Manfred Symphony - not his best. If Calm is low on available works on CD, I can send them about 1,000 free of charge as I really don't use a CD player any more. Show more

Versatile, Extensive, AND In a Class of Its Own!
This has become my "Go-To" enviromental music app while working from home. HUGH variety of "background modification" music that is excellent for concentration, study, or just "coolin'" out. LOTS of options for mindfulness exercises such as yoga, tai chi, hanna somatics, etc. I have used iTunes for many years and I like it but it doesn't compare with Calm, not at all! In addition, I use Sirius XM and like it but it is not the same as Calm. Calm is "just much better" when I need music or sounds to encourage my brain to focus. Show more

    Poor Customer Support
The stream cuts out without warning. Right now, it's not working at all, and I've tried everything. Calm Radio's customer support is as leisurely and unhurried as the music. Maybe I'll hear from them in a couple of days if/when they get around to it. Meanwhile, I'm paying for a service that doesn't work. Bad experience. My advice is to find some other streaming source. Fair Enough
I'm enjoying the app till I'm hearing the voices speaking and waking me from listening the calming music.

    App feels rushed and amateurish
Downloaded and opened the app. Grabbed a side to make it bigger. Realized app doesn't follow the usual rules— because not only did the side I was grabbing grow, but so did the whole window... in fact, too large for my screen. ... Now I can't shrink it back down. Deleted the app and redownloaded... Still has some preference file buried somewhere, and so the window is still too large for my screen. If the app is this rushed and doesn't follow standard rules, then this does *not* bode well... Show more

Finally, an app that doesn't crash!!
I can finally give this application 5 stars! I have been critical of this app for the last few years as I've never been able to keep the application from crashing as soon as I clicked on a selection. FINALLY this app resolves the problem! I can now launch and listen to my music on Calm, which I love, and it will not crash. Whoever is responsible for the rewrite of the code, thank you!! Calm's previous developer(s) never delivered as solid an application as this one. The next improvement I'd like to see is a way from within the application to use AirPlay. I currently use Air Foil to redirect the audio on Calm, but it should be built-in. Show more

Love Calm Radio I use the app on mac no problem
I'm using Mojave 10.14 on MacBook Pro. When I first downloaded the Calm Radio app, I did have problems, but it turned out other music apps were the problem. Once I deleted Iheart radio and a couple of other "free" radio apps Calm Radio now works fine. Keep your OS up to date turns out Mac's "automatic update" sometimes isn't always automatic. Show more

    Love This App!
This is one of my favorite music apps. The collection of soothing music to relax with is wonderful. From classic to modern and everything in between. I had a problem with my subscription because I forgot to renew it, and I need my ad-free Calm! I re-upped the wrong way, and it got very confusing. But the customer service was fantastic, and worked with my account to get back to my original subscription rate. Definitely thumbs up! Show more

Can’t Download URL To Stream In Itunes
I am a loyal fan of CALM Radio since I bought a lifetime membership BUT I annoyed that you can no longer download the URL into the open streaming function in iTunes. I want to play calm radio through iTunes and not their app which crashes at times and is very clunky to use and specifically can not FIND older streams. Maybe I am missing something but I want the URL’s to load into my iTunes again. This is why I gave CALM radio 3 stars for right now. Show more

    Fastest uninstallation ever
I’m a fan and paid subscriber of the Calm Radio service, but cannot endorse this app. In fact, I can’t say much about it at all because it crashed all three times I tried to log in, after which I uninstalled it. The iOS app is working fine on my iPad, but oddly — given that iTunes is rarely the best answer to any music question — importing the Calm Radio stream URLs to iTunes’s internet radio panel seems to be the easiest and best way to listen to their programming on the desktop. waste of money
I feel like I've wasted $72 on an ad-free yearly membership. Often when I login on their website, I cannot get to the player, just promos. If I launch the desktop player app, it will not recognize my paid membership, so I hear commercials. On Apple TV 4k, the channels will play for 5 min, then freeze. I must switch channels to get any music, which will then freeze again after 5 min. At this rate I cannot possibly renew this membership. Show more

    This app is completely broken!
Another example of an app that is completely broken and the author is completely oblivious to any problems whatsoever!
