    Great
Great for people who want to learn how to convert fingerings to octaves. It could be full screen though.

    Straightforward and solid app
I’ve used a few other sight reading training apps but this one is clear, easy to use and solid. You can tailor settings to focus on the range of notes and keys you want to work on. Just right - and free! I would happily pay for it but the developer doesn’t even have a donation button in the app. Show more

    Do not download
I downloaded this app to help me refresh and get quicker with learning my notes. Unfortunately, this app is CRAP! It was telling me that I was wrong when it came to a G calling it a B. When clearly the 2nd line is a G hence the acronym (E-very G-ood B-oy D-oes F-ine) and for spaces (F-A-C-E) so for it to tell me the 2nd line is B when it's clearly G is absurd. So update your app and get the information correct. It's misleading and other musician will think that you are right when in actuality they are learning wrong. Show more

    Great app
Nothing fancy just a simple way to learn how to read notes and it worked great, like flash cards easy and clear!!! I have been learning how to play the piano for a month or two with a teacher but couldn't learn the notes well enough and it kept getting in my way of progress. Enter this FREE and great app, 3 days later of about 20min a day and I know them well, a week later and I was fluent ? If you are not sure of the notes at first you can press the note and it will tell you the answer rather than pressing mindlessly until you get it. Thank you for this app and for making it free! Great App!
This is a nice simple app to learn notes. It's very cut & dry, which is nice for just having a few extra minutes here & there to review/learn your notes. It does exactly what I want. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is for limited ability to practice both the treble & bass clefs at the same time. Great customer service & a very nice app! Show more

    It's ok
The app does the job but to really kick it up a notch it needs a few small improvements. First of all, the points/minute system doesn't work because the is a pause between displaying each note. In other words, you can't measure your speed very well when there is a pause between each note. I love just about everything else, but there is one other thing that the app REALLY needs. It needs to track which notes you get wrong and which notes you get right, like other music apps. This way you can make it so more of the notes you don't know show up than the ones you do know, as well as letting you know what you need to work on. I give this a three out of five because the pause between notes really annoy me and it performs as expected. Show more

I love this app,I can play it any time and everyday if I'm not working . I am music lover all my life, but self studying music theory is a long process and maybe boring, but this app change it totally. It's addicted like playing game and learning the same time. Very helpful. Thanks the developer, you are genius, I really mean it. Show more

A truly useful and fun app!!
Wow! I heard about this from my music teacher who recommends it highly. I am learning music with my children, and have found it invaluable in learning to read notes in an interactive yet simple manner. It is simple enough to practice in public with some time to kill and yet engaging enough to keep my 7-year-old entertained. Finally a game that actually teaches something!! I highly recommend it to parents whose kids are learning music, and for us more "mature" beginners it's a fun way to learn painlessly. Thank You! I would have paid more! Show more

    Note Tutor
This latest version is the best yet. Many little refinements that make using the app more intuitive. This app allows me to practice music wherever I am. I recently started learning bass clef and I couldn't imagine a better way to learn it. Occcasssionallly when life gets crazy busy and I can't make it to my practice space I can still do valuable work and keep a sense of connection with music. This app is not just for beginners. I am a serious and learned musician and this tool is very useful and helpful, especially if you play a transposing instrument. Show more

    Note tutor is great!
I've been putting off learning bass clef for years -- now I can practice during idle moments where ever I am. It is fun and fast, and I love the audio feedback (playing the correct note). It's great, thanks! Show more

    Learning to read music
This app is great for me and people like me, trying to learn how to read music! Easily customizable for all levels of music readers. Highly recommended, definitely worth the $0.99!!! Show more

    Great for very young beginners
I wasted my money on a few of the paid for apps in this category. This is the best for my 5 year old to start learning notes. It isn't tied to a specific instrument and allows for adjusting the high low range Show more

    Musical flashcards
This is a great little program for those looking to develop or improve their note reading skills. The notes appear on the staff and you identify them using the interface. It's essentially a drill, and it does that very well. Good for all of us beginners! Show more

    make it better
It's ok, but I would strongly recommend that they add a keyboard to tap the proper note instead of just the letters. And have both the treble and bass clefs appear simultaneously on screen. That would make it perfect. Show more

    Great app for new musicians
WYSIWYG - you get exactly what they say, no less, no more. I find it perfect for what I wanted. As someone new at the piano, I wanted a drill that would help me to quickly and easily learn the names of all the notes on the two clefs. Show more

Worst app ever! Rip off! Do not buy!
This is a total waste of your money!!! It doesn't teach you how to write notes! It shows a note on the screen and you have to guess which one it is! I expected this app to TEACH me how to read notes, but it doesn't. Total waste of money! Do not buy!!!!!!! Show more

    Great simple app
Does exactly what it says, simple but efficient interface. I used this app to brush up on some sight reading and it has really helped. Very convenient to just use for a couple minutes here and there and then put away. Show more

    Great app, but...
I have been using it to practice note reading in treble clef and like the scoring feature that provides me with useful feedback but as an wind player player wish you would include Eb key as that wil provide even more complete training...keep up the great work!!! Show more

    Great app!
I bought two apps for refreshing my note reading skills. I much prefer this application. Very easy to use and I like the note options that stay consistent at the bottom of the page. I prefer this to apps that simulate flipping a note card. This is faster and imo, more effective. Show more

    simple but effective
My daughter is learning violin; her only training in reading music has come from using Note Tutor, and it's enabled her to be able to read songs on her own.
