    Oops! Bad update!
    This USED to be the premier music app on my phone, but since the new update it won't even open! I've had to revert to using the regular music player. Ugh! Undo what you did! Give me back my Gesture Music! Show more

    Meh, it's ok.
    The app looks great, its easy to read, use, and performs good. Opus has more controls options and the music seach is also better. With this app you will only be able create and use playlists. On the other hand, Opus allows easy searching of your music library with the quick search feature (pick your letter). However, this app, while playing and using the controls, looks bigger and better, making it easier to read. I hope they fix the music search menu and make it more like the original iPod menu and not playlist mode, but still having that option. Show more

    Very Impressed
    I started out with the free version, which in itself was great, given all of the other car iPod control apps were anywhere from .99 to 4.99. The one thing about the free version though was that you had to start the iPod first, and then open this app. I decided to upgrade to the paid version (which was on sale this week apparently) so I could simply open this app to get the music playing. With that said, this is truly a great app for those who use their iPod touch/iPhones in the car. I hate the fact that on the regular iPod software, the control buttons are on the very bottom of the screen, and you have to either look (while driving), or know EXACTLY where they are to change your music. This app changes everything; all you do is swipe your finger from one side of the screen to the other if you want to skip, or go back a song - that's it. It will adjust the iPod screen to any angle you have it (sideways, upside down), so there is uniform control & you don't have to take your eyes off of the road. On the menu screen, you have two options - to either select a playlist from your iPod to play, or to create your own mix from all of your iPod music which is really cool (do this before you drive though!). I do wish that there was an option on the menu to access ALL of your iPod songs, but I guess you could open your iPod program first, and leave it on the entire song list, and then control it with this app. Overall, this is a great app, especially if you live in a state like California that has a no tolerance law for things like cell phones, and other distractions while driving.     Agreed -- it IS the BEST of breed!!
    Love it!! Over the years (unfortunately!), I have "collected" several music players (LeechTunes, FluxTunes, PlaySafe, Opus, etc.) and GestureMusic is CLEARLY the best. Gesture swiping is great/needed (like others said, don't know why Apple overlooked this) but I love the size of the song title & artist, and the different colors. Big, bold & clean. Love the album name (in the rounded box) underneath. It's the visual layout, to me, that makes GestureMusic so much better! Definitely worth 5 stars but wish: 1) the icon was better looking, and, 2) you didn't have to swipe so many times up or down when trying to turn the volume up or down (when trying to go from one extreme to the other, hope that makes sense). I could see the option for skins in the future but I love the simple black background -- easy on the eyes when driving (esp. at night -- you don't have a bright screen inside your car). Well done! Please keep up the great work! Show more

    The BEST of breed!
    This app is so very well written. It is simple, clean, and in every case does exactly what you want it to do. It works in portrait, landscape, upside down. I like to play the iPod in the car and this makes it very easy. I couldn't disagree more with the previous reviewer who wanted fancier graphics. I want to easily see the key data without any clutter -- this does that no matter how I pick up the iPod. I've read about some of the other apps: 1 finger for this, 2 fingers for that, 3 fingers for the other -- what are they thinking about??? For the car??? This app has a bug. A setting will let you turn off the iPod screenlock, BUT if you do something like advance to the next (or previous) song, the screenlock feature turns right back on. You can change volume, or pause/resume with no problem. Getting out of the app and getting right back in will re-enable the screenlock override. Show more

    good app
    I just purchased this app and think it is very good but there are a few things it needs - First my podcast playlists do not show up, the reason I purchased this app was to replace the default ipod controls. Since I mostly listen to podcasts not having the playlist show up was a very large disapointment. Second I would like to see the track times larger again this is more about podcasts than music. Third (and this may be in there but I am not sure where) it need a fast forward and reverse. I know this app was built for music and I am using it for podcasts but with those changes I think it would be a killer app for podcasts as well. Show more

    Works well but the layout design is painful to look at.
    Please give the user an option to change the font and background! I love the whole idea behind this app but I can't see myself using it if it continues to look like a cheap PowerPoint slide. Show more

    Great interface
    Slick, clean interface, easy controls. Would be nice to be able to create *and save* playlists on the fly. Also, enough with the "please leave a review" message on startup. Very annoying. Show once and that's it. Show more

    Pretty good music interface for the car
    PROS I'm pretty satisfied with the overall interface. The song information and the album cover art displays clearly while music is playing. The interactive finger swiping gestures are easy to pause, play, change tracks and navigate. Something nice that the developers added recently was the rewind to beginning of currently playing track. Before, a backward swipe would have went to previous track. This feature was not included for some reason in their earlier release, it should've been a standard function like any other music player. But kudos to them! CONS I've built an iPhone mount on my car's dashboard that fits inside of the double din space where my head unit once was. I figured this was a better location than my window/suction-cup mount because it was easier to reach and did not wobble as much. And since the iPhone's orientation is stuck horizontally (an ideal position anyway) I would have given this app 5 stars if the song browsing function had a landscape mode. Another thing I want to mention was that the "disable sleep mode" function in the preferences menu does not seem to work. It may possibly be because I have the phone's password enabled... although the time out is set to an hour, that's LONG after the phone's screen dims. OVERALL This app is a very good solution for car audio integration. The pros surely outweigh the cons... I'm just very picky when it comes to small details. Show more

    Perfect
    This app has worked great for me while running and while driving. Pretty much works as expected, and works well. - Very clean UI and easy to use. - Large text for track title makes it very easy to see at a glance what is playing Made a couple of minor suggestions to the author and I immediately got a response indicating he would include those changes in the next update. UPDATE: Version 1.2 includes all the updates requested and more. Very nice app! Show more

    Favorite Music Player
    Clean interface, Sweet & Simple. Now that I have an Iphone holder for my vehicle, I can manage my music without veering off the road. I use it every day and without a doubt suits me better than the Ipod app; my passengers even use it! Highly recommend for on or off road use! Show more

    Excellent App... but not so eye catching! // Excelent App... pero no muy atractiva a la vista!
    This app is excellent, make the use of the ipod/iphone (at car) so natural, intuitive and EASY. Great concept & incredible interface. The only objection is that the GUI is not eye appealling or catching. Please consider the following recommendation to make it more eye catching: 1.- Place the album art in the middle of the screen and place 2 black bars on the top and the bottom of it (something like the image displayed in a widescreen LCD/TV) 2. - Use those two black bars to display the info of the song. On the top bar : display the name of the currently playing song (Use a bigger bold font). Also display (under the song of the currently playing) centered the name of the album (Use a normal and smaller font). On the down bar: display centered the name of the currently playing artist/band (use any color/font). I think those simple modifications on the GUI makes this app a totally winner (on usability & eye catching). Keep the good work. Best Regards and thanks. La unica objeccion es que la interfaz gráfica del usuario no es muy atractiva o agradable. Por favor considere la siguiente recomendacion a fin de que la misma sea mas atractiva a la vista: 1.- Coloque la imagen del albúm en medio de la pantalla y coloque 2 barras negras en la parte superior e inferior de la misma (algo parecido a la imagen desplegada en los TV/LCD pantalla ancha) 2. - Utilice esas dos barras negras para desplegar la información de la canción. En la barra superior: Despliegue el nombre de la canción actualmente reproduciendose (Usar fuente grande en negrita). Ademas desplegar bajo el nombre de la cancion y de forma centrada el nombre del album actualmente reproduciendose (Usar fuente mas pequeña normal). En la barra inferior: Desplegar de forma centrada el nombre del artista/banda actualmente reproduciendose (usar cualquier color/fuente). Creo que estas simples modificaciones en la interfaz grafica de usuario haran a esta app una ganadora total (en uso y atractivo a la vista). Sigan con su buen trabajo. Muchos saludos y gracias.
