Tracker style DAW that bypasses fancy UI and graphic design. I’ve never experienced such a sense of control over an audio program, and not being tempted to reach for additional plugins brings out the best of my creativity. If you’re beginner you’re going to get lost in this app, you’ll have to learn a lot before you even get started making stuff with this app. Get the PC version (which is free) to test it out before you buy this version, there’s plenty of tutorials on YouTube for the PC version. If you’re on an iPhone instead of an iPad, I wouldn’t recommend you buy this. The ui is not the best optimized for iPhone. Everything looks cluttered and just not designed well for a small screen. I am a club DJ and have been using ableton for 10 years, and this is my new favorite way to make music. The modular sound design system is intuitive and simple with near endless possibilities. The tracker is a really nice way to get out of my normal composition headspace while also being easy to understand if you have a bit of patience to spend on learning it. I now have this program on every one of my devices and I am excited to pick it up and play with it in the morning. Really great!! Show more

This was the first music production app I got on my original ipad like 12 years ago and I still use it from time to time today! It’s incredibly robust and filled with features and if you have a little imagination, you can figure out how to create all kinds of sounds with this thing. I imagine it would be a Helpful way to learn about modular synthesis and trackers. One of my long running all time favorite mobile music production apps and I am still amazed that it was created by a single guy (much like NanoStudio). Cubasis was created by one of the industry’s biggest players and it still feels so clunky and unusable to me…. Anyway, definitely get this, you won’t regret it! Show more

This is an amazing app. I would love to see an output module with the ability to take advantage of more than two outputs. My sound card has 16 outputs and it would be amazing to be able to send audio outputs to my mixer. Additionally CV, gate and trigger outputs would be amazing too. Keep up the great work! Show more

The BEST update to ever happen to Sunvox. .mod and .it improvements, leave notes on at the end of patterns via supertracks, the ability to mute tracks, the songs “5101” and “5102” by the creator himself, and a WHOLE LOT. There are a very select group of audio apps that I install on every new device before any other apps. SunVox is definitely one of those apps! Tracker functionality isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but the modular wiring and multitude of modules are really the star of the show. You can create just about any type of Synth and fx combo you can think of in a very lightweight environment. I’ve been a big fan of SunVox for a long time. Many apps have come along since I first tried SunVox. Most have been relegated to being reinstalled once in a while, only to be uninstalled to clear out clutter. SunVox never leaves my devices, and it gets used very often for sound design and generative audio. Show more

This is a great app to mix and learn some dubbing if you’ve never mixed or tried to creat track samples or anything like that, the user interface or learning curve is substantial.. took me a minute to start figuring out how to get things rolling properly but once you get going it’s smooth sailing Show more

I am really IMPRESSED WITH SUN-VOX! That’s just my initial reaction and I Get the feeling that I will be back soon to say more about it. Balancing technical skill and creative intuitiveness is not an easy thing for a layperson, let alone a creator, artist or developer, but I think SUN-VOX expresses that balance. I’m sure I speak for lots of other folks when I say thank you for your hard work and creativity. SUN-VOX is a phenomenal and rare discovery, CHALLENGING, SATISFYING AND AFFORDABLE. 12-15-2020 Like I said, I’m back to talk more about SunVox. Now that I have had some time to spend with the app I have a clearer idea of what it’s all about. In the age of instant gratification in EVERY facet of life, music production included, stuff that requires thought and effort are sometimes hard to get into, but I just freestyled over my first SunVox beat, after reading about how the app utilizes a hexadecimal cipher in the dissemination of the data and having my horizons broadened. This is the kind of app that is almost a complete DAW but can also be used as many other things including being loaded as an effect in iOS and for sampling. It’s really incredible as a sound design tool! I use it for full tracks myself, as a daw basically, and I have them all believe me. I’ve had this app for a while too and I still get excited about it. I find the tracker to be rather fast and easy to use once you learn the shortcuts and required techniques. The manual is a little tough but the video tutorials are great. Show more

I have had this since 2011-12. It’s still ahead of me. Still learning about SunVox. The sound quality through real speakers is so much more than one might think possible. It creates volume and layering that makes the process fun for me. On Fractal Bits now. It too feels infinite. You can make your own everything in SunVox and it is a daw. This is really a separate world I have barely learned. I love it more every time I open it. Show more

ok so I’m only 23 years old (born 1997) so I’m way too young to have grown up with trackers. Didn’t even know they existed till a couple days. I’ve been looking into the new polyend tracker and gained a tiny bit of knowledge on how to use them so coming into this app was really fun and easy. Really wanted to see how a tracker workflow would work for me and I kind of dig it! I personally don’t find it confusing (the basics that is) and I’ve only been fooling around for a day! Love this app and for the price it’s a steal!! Maybe I’ll never buy the polyend tracker cause it’s literally 100 x the price!! Show more

Update: the dev has responded and let me know that the FM module isn't "bugged", but that it is designed to work on a non-standard way. I had thought it was bugged. But now that I know it's by design, I'm still not happy with it. I need a normal behaving FM. However, the dev accepted my suggestions and is considering to add an "FM2" module in a future update, which would allow for some more standard FM behavior. I will update review if this update comes out... In the mean time I might be able to find an alternative way to produce FM-like sounds, using some of the other sound generators included in sunvox.
