Major bug in app as I can’t share any articles. The button, square with up arrow, crashes the app. Not sure why NPR would allow such a poor app to represent them. Show more

I’m happy with this app. I use it all the time. The only thing I’d change is that when I go to play my local ration, I have to tap the play button multiple times for it to open the stream. It’s annoying. Seems like a simple defect to fix. Show more

Please allow faster playback speed. Sometimes my playlist gets very clogged with older stories, and it takes a while to get through them

It is too bad that they don’t have a feature that allows me to share the important reports with my friends. It is also very difficult to find in the App Store because it is so old. Show more

First, let me say this is the second time I am trying to write this review. My unfinished first attempt vanished with no “draft” version. So, I was saying that I thought I used to be able to forward articles using the “email” button on the upper right. Now, when I press that button, there is no “response” for a request for a destination. Shortly after that, the app just crashes. I am running an iPad 6th generation with the latest iOS 16.2. P.S. I made regular copies of what I wrote this time in case the review disappeared like my last attempt. Show more

… and crashes… and crashes. Can’t get it to work reliably on my iPhone 11. Super-frustrating. Also lacking basic functionality — sometimes I just want the frequency of a station, but many of the station logos don’t give that. If there’s another way to find just a frequency, I can’t find it. This app is essentially useless as I drive across country and want frequencies. Show more

I love listening to NPR during work, but it is very frustrating when listening, especially in breaking live news feeds, and transmission suddenly stops. It happens multiple times within minutes making it almost pointless to try to listen to the news. It is not my wi-fi or cellular connection because it happens constantly in any location where the rest of my apps work fine. I have had to uninstall and re-install to see if that helps; most of the time it does not. Please fix this as listening to NPR (uninterrupted) makes my day more enjoyable. Show more

Still plenty of bugs. Unable to forward the articles and frequent crashes.

Would be great to have option to save the articles/interviews I want to read later. I have now resorted to emailing myself the stories I want to read

Please allow some way to scroll back to the top and refresh quickly. I would like to tap the NPR logo or the home button once or twice to scroll back to the top of the feed and refresh. If I’m already on the home feed pressing home should scroll to the top. If I’m already at the top it should refresh. Edit: Just found I can scroll to the top by tapping the top corners or between the notch and the NPR logo. Show more

What is with the now five minute music transitions? NPR news goes away and they play instrumental music for five minutes in-between all news stories. What is happening??

Buggier and buggier as time goes by,l. I find myself more and more often going to the App Store to search for “NPR,” assuming there will be an update correct the maddening buggy lines that prevents me from getting my daily NPR bread … only to find there is not one. The app just doesn’t keep up. This probably just means that we should all be giving more money to NPR, since what we love about it is that it is not CNN. I’m sure their app is very sleek. It’s just sooooo frustrating in this digital era when now we don’t even own a radio, and bugs on the app have literally make it impossible to get the news i want/need on multiple important occasions, including around l the election (and this evening). The live stream will work for a minute, and then will just stop. It’s not my internet It’s not my phone. And it’s not my operating system which is up to date. When the stream stops the app just becomes unresponsive: I push the “button” for my local NPR affiliate (WPR), and nothing happens. It’s frozen. I can move to different sections in the app so it’s not totally frozen. It’s just the live stream that won’t respond. If I quit the app, open it back up, go back to “live radio” and select my local stations stream again it will usually work again for a few seconds or even a minute. Then it stops again. This has become a ritual. Going through this process repeatedly will consume a lot of time (while trying to prepare food for my family, do laundry, and do the other important stuff of life) as I am dropped right in the middle of important story after important story. Until I get so frustrated I give up. But this is only after it has eaten up a good chunk of my time fiddling with it trying to make it work. Show more

Like most online news sources, NPR leaves days-old stories up WAY too long. On any given day, there’s probably only 20% new articles. Disappointing.

I am surprised at the persistent Facebook tracking on this app. I had higher expectations for NPR app. Just use you Apple Music app and listen there. That way you avoid the annoying sponsor announcements that occur every time the app disconnects and relogs back in, which is frequent. Show more

I had no issues with the old version. Now, after a recent update, the audio playback pauses when the screen sleeps and I have to keep waking my phone to get it to continue playing. The content is still outstanding, but the functionality has been reduced. Show more

Various crashes never get fixed. For example the app crashes every single time when trying to share an article. I always have to go to the website, open the article there and share with the browser share icon or sending the url. Is sharing not important to you? Show more

Same headline and top stories for 5 days! I pull down for updates, it looks like it’s working, but the stories don’t change. I like the content obviously, but the app not so much. Show more

I updated the app today and now if I move to a different app or the screen locks then playback stops.
