Exactly what it needs to be - hi res on the new Retina display
Update - 2016-02-28 I hope this gets updated soon. It would be really nice if it took advantage of the new fluid layout methods of iOS 8 and later so that it could leverage the extra screen real estate of the iPad Pro. ------- This app makes the Liber Usualis very approachable. Calendar integration is fantastic, especially for those trying to wade the then more eclectic rules regarding the structure of the pre-Vatican II Church year. This is straight scan of the Liber, so don't expect it to behave like a traditional ebook. No text flow. You pan from column to column. I have used this app for a while on the iPad2, but it looks fantastic on the Retina display of the new iPad. No update required to gain the extra resolution. Kudos the the developers for getting this right. My only gripe is that the app can be persnickety when moving from page to page. It tries to "help" you go to the top of the next column, but it often feels more like a tug-of-war. It works much better, however, in portrait mode. Show more

An excellent update to a brilliant application
This update brings Liber Pro to full compatibility with iOS 8 and 9, and the larger iPhone screens. Thank you. There are also several welcome adjustments. On an iPhone 6 with iOS 8, the screen is now well used and makes it much more efficient for liturgical use. The zoom is indeed a bit quirky, but this is much less required than before on newer screens, as in landscape mode, the page is perfectly readable and accessible. Hopefully that can be fixed in a subsequent update. The combination of a reliable calendar with all the pages of the Liber Usualis is just brilliant. Show more

Very appreciative of the effort, but...
Such great potential, but this falls short in terms of practical use. Yes, it's not an eBook as another review mentioned, but the pages don't have an adjustment where a single page cab be viewed. I chant in a schola, and not being able to see a complete page is rather limiting. In addition, the page "turning" is very slow to resolve. The next page "snaps" in place and ruins the flow. Think of this as the chant moves from one page to the next. Virtually unusable. In addition, although there are bookmarks, the app is very slow. One has to access the "bookmark menu", press the desired bookmark, and then let the app think about it. By the time the screen finally resolves, the flow of following is ruined -- especially for the short variable parts such as the Introit. This has great potential, but the slowness of the app and the lack of customization doesn't leave me with a positive experience. This would be a tough app to recommend. Show more

One I never thought I would see!
This is excellent! As a part-time teacher, part-time student, I could never afford the text itself, even with the help of the publisher. This gives me what I need to continue my studies in Mediaeval Music. Thanks, Darke Applications! Show more

    No more back pain!
I downloaded the new Liber Pro application and it is simply awesome. The mere fact that I can carry my iPod touch to the choir loft and not have to hold the real 5 lbs, back breaking Liber in my hands is worth the price. No more having to page through the 2,000 page book to find an out of sequence Gradual or Offertory. Simply jump to that page. I like the overlay feature, and the Table of Contents layout. I have only one complaint, but it's more of a nit-pick than anything else. If you setup the Auto Hide feature to maximize the viewable area by hiding the view selector, the very top of the page (including the page number and title) are not viewable if you are in horizontal page navigation mode. You can get around that by selecting the vertical page navigation, and slowly scrolling up to the top of the page. Who would have thought that you could attend the Extraordinary Form of the Mass, using the 1962 Missal, while following along and singing from an electronic device? Deo Gratias! Show more

    Very useful
For anyone who is interested in the traditional Catholic liturgy and the sacred music of that liturgy, this program can be very helpful. Given the size of the true Liber Usualis, having it in pocket size form for quick reference and review is an excellent idea. Show more

    Simply amazing!
Thank you, Mr Drake, for this remarkable app. I look forward to other Catholic and liturgical offerings from you. My only tiny complaint is that the resolution of the Liber pages could be a bit higher. But other than that, I am extremely impressed! Show more
