**I’ve tried giving SoundHound a chance but this app WILL NOT find your song unless it’s v known. I’ve had so many missed song opportunities!!!??

The thing I love about SoundHound is it finds more little known and random songs that Shazam doesn’t seem to be able to.

I am so confused as to what happened to SoundHound? It used to be such a reliable app for me, but it has not worked for me for years. I’ve been recently using Shazam because I grew tired of not being able to use SoundHound. I don’t know why, but it stopped recognizing any songs for me, unless it’s a recognizable common song, but it has not been able to recognize lesser known songs and it doesn’t recognize my humming like it used to. I sang and hummed well known songs. This app does not work. Results are usually an Asian song when I do get some. The ads are sketchy.

It blows my mind how horrible this app is. The results I get for some songs, which are not even underground, is bewildering. I tried to find out what an instrumental song was (perfect speakers and no background noise, by the way) and the result was a man speaking in Hindi, I KID YOU NOT. As of late, it can’t recognize anything. These are not obscure songs and there’s no interference. For example, it didn’t recognize the Nas & Lauryn Hill from his newest album. Apparently their database has gotten out of date. Very disappointed as this was once my favorite app ☹️ Show more

Easy to use, even identifies songs with background noise.

I gotta have the phone right on the speaker during the chorus or it doesn’t pick up- I’m about to go back to Shazam unless they figure it out

Years ago, when I used the demo it found almost every single song I looked for EVEN YouTube based songs that are nowhere else. I felt that, because I’m a music connoisseur and to fill my phone with new unknown songs, bands and producers, it was a no brainer. I had to purchase the full version. Now, after years of updates and the devs taking away GOOD parts from the app and the app not even picking up even the most famous songs like Beyoncé’s ring on it or almost any queen song, it’s time to move on. I’ve found that Shazam works way better nowadays and even matches songs directly to the YouTube video so you can watch it instantly AND it automatically ads it to your playlist so you can listen later. The past 6 months or so this no longer returns songs at least 50% of the time. And it no longer saves searches unless you sign up. No thanks.

You can literally sing the exact lyrics to a mainstream song and all it will turn up is some obscure song from Japan.

I started using this app close to a decade ago probably. It could identify almost anything, even with background noise - it was awesome! Over the past couple of years it has progressively worsened to the point where it only hears music around half the time (maybe less). Really disappointing considering I used to tell people this app was far superior to Shazam, which is unfortunately no longer true. Show more
