Doesn’t work with rhythmbox as source
I have Ubuntu 18. Daap is enabled in rhythmbox. Simple daap does not find it.

Music plays for a minute, then stops...
Love how quickly it finds my Firefly iTunes server. All content listed correctly. However, when I select a file to play, it only plays for a minute and then aborts. I have to go back and start from scratch at that point. Like the other reviewer said: doesn’t fully work as is, needs polishing. Show more

    A simple player
Works fairly well, works a bit slow when loading all artists. I think maybe it's making a new library request to the daap server each time. Less memory used but slower. Will not work with iTunes 7+ shares, but that's due to apple's authentication. Show more

    Crashes when you select song

    Free and Buggy
For the connection to my iTunes home-share, it throws an error that cannot be clicked because is it behind the working grey screen and not in focus. For the connection to my NAS, when I select a song it immediately throws a connection error but proceeds to slowly download the song in the background and eventually plays it. It seems like a good college project that could use a little more testing and polishing. Show more

    Unusable on modern devices
It’s hard to believe, but this is the only app on the App Store that allows you to play music off of an iTunes DAAP Server. Unfortunately, it is very out of date. The last update it received allowed it to run in the background (back when that was a new iPhone OS feature). It doesn’t have iPhone 6 (Plus) support, or iPhone 5 screen support, iPad support, or even Retina Display support. And being now on iOS 8, it opens up, but that’s about it. Please make a new app, hell, even charge for it. People would pay a dollar or two for an app with this functionality. Show more

    Does not work
App opens ok but crashes while connecting to Miro. Not useable.

    Almost works
Connects to daap share from rhythm box in Ubuntu and shows all track info and genres, etc. Unfortunately, it won't play anything. It just returns an error about the server not responding to request for music. Show more

    Junk
Force closes on iPad 4 on app startup.

    Great
Works really well, and very simple too.

    Doesn't work.
I try to connect to an iTunes library, and it just crashes. Not a whole lot more to say than that.

    good enough in a pinch
it's really basic, but it works in a pinch. i don't even mind that the listing is all text-based. not displaying album art only serves to speed it up. but password support would go a long way. and (previous song)/(play/pause)/(next song) controls would be nice. Show more

    Alright
The interface isn't that great, but it works.

    Work fine, but...
This app gets props for being the only DAAP client for the iPhone. It also does its job, playing music. But in interface leaves a lot to be desired. No audio interface controls, no search. Kind of klugey. But in the end, it does it's job, and it is the only working player. That counts for something. Show more

    Works well
Works fine with my mt-daapd server on my home wireless network. It plays in the background as you run other apps. Can only browse by genre then artist then album then song, so if you know the artist or album or song but not the genre then you have to do some browsing to find what you want. But what do you want for free? Show more

    Works great!
Using it with FreeNAS and it finds everything and does run in the background. No complaints - especially for the price!

    Simple Enough
Works well, nothing fancy. Would be nice for it to work on the background.
  • lifestorie11, 12.11.2011
    Close to great
Would be great if it had password support

Worked like charm !! Keep up good work

    No password support.
This app is unusable for me because it has no password support. It did find my server though, so I gave it 1 star. I guess "simple" really means simple. Would love it try it again if it gets password support. Show more
